Monroe Traded
|
Quote:And you continue to ignore the huge difference in their contract situations even though it has been said multiple times by different people. Why is that? Because I also brought up another player who was in a similar situation contractwise as Monroe and still netted a windfall, and he didn't play a premium position and was probably not even top 10 at his position like Monroe is.... "The question now in Jacksonville: who's next? With Monroe gone, the team has just one player on the roster (defensive end Tyson Alualu) from any of the three drafts between 2008 and 2010.
And it's clear the Jaguars aren't even close to being competitive, so why not try to trade guys with value who aren't in general manager Dave Caldwell's long-term plans? The players could include running back Maurice Jones-Drew, tight end Marcedes Lewis or linebacker Paul Posluszny." Quote:That article also says that PFF has Monroe rated as the 15th best tackle in the league. He tells me not to spin an argument. He then spins his argument. Classic knarnn Quote:I think Bridgewater at 3 is better value than Mack at 3, yes. <div> LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Clown. </div> Quote:That wasnt the original point you were making, you said the trade value didnt make sense. I proved you wrong and you change the argument. Since this argument is pretty dumb too, i while clarify it for you.It wasn't a change in argument. People keep saying "well he wasn't going to stay anyways" so you franchise him. Try to work out a long term deal. We have the funds available to do so. Especially with it being cap carryover we can front load the deal and have him on the cheap for the next 3-5 years. Maybe you don't understand the value of the franchise tag. You use the tag to keep other teams from signing him while you: A) workout a long term contract Or B ) attempt to trade him for decent value. Either we would have been able to keep him or we would have at least been able to work on a trade to net more than "multiple 3rd day picks" usually right before or during the draft is when we could get the most value for a franchise cornerstone.

Quote:Hello mcfly. If we do not win we are in the Bridgewater sweepstakes. Is that not what you wanted? Hey Skolnick, No ones upset at losing Monroe,....or at least I'm not.....we're upset at the scraps we received in compensation, especially when there is recent evidence of better deals amongst worse players that did not play premium positions. The Jags need good draft choices to rebuild. not a bunch of later rounders which will only wind up with players that will ultimately not last long. We show less advertisements to registered users. Who here would franchise Monroe just to keep him on this team if no one would trade for him? If you wouldn't then what is the argument. Some thing for nothing. Is always better then nothing. Even my 4 year old cousin knows 0+0=0

Now Marcedes Lewis I'd trade for Peanuts. His contract is just yuck.
But I was hoping our O-line would bet set at least at LT and RT. If we get a 3rd or so out of it, that'd be great. But late round picks rarely pan out.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
Because you are only allowed 10 picks that is why.

Are u drunk??? ![]() Quote:That article also says that PFF has Monroe rated as the 15th best tackle in the league. Implying at this time. Nice cherry pick though. Even still I would assume a 15th best tackle would demand more than a 5th, 6th or 7th round pick. The Ravens sure seem thrilled to move on from McKinnie who would love to be mentioned as anothing close in nature. Btw why don't you Google our successor to Monroe, Joeckel and see where he ranks in the league.(And get back on topic)

10th best LT is above average. I mean, unless you dont consider 16th best to be average.
Elite is defined differently by everyone but should only be reserved for top 5-6 IMO.
Hey tmd. If you had no trade partner would you franchise Monroe? If you wouldn't and were going to let him walk. Then something be better then nothing. Right?

The lowest it could be is a sixth. It is probably a fourth and fifth. And could be pretty high. Since the ravens are not looking great.
