Which if that's the case, it would just continue to show how clueless Khan is. Why even fire Caldwell in the first place if you're going to just keep his right hand man? Especially if he's pushing for Urban.. That's just proof he should have been sent packing the same day as Caldwell.

Well he wasn't exactly his right-hand man, but I do agree to dump him. If he is involved in the evaluation of the coach, he will push who he wants in hopes he gets the job.

If he has any input they might as well announce him as the GM.

Couple of interesting tidbits in that article. One being Urban seems to be putting together a staff already. The other interesting thing is if Urban doesn’t work out, we may go after Ryan Day?

Starting to think Lawrence might not be a slam dunk at number 1.

After being a Jags fan for 25 years, I would drop this team like a hot potato, if we did this. You don't have players like Lawrence fall into your laps, only to turn them away.

As for Meyer, I only have 3 words........ "Please God, No!"

Meyer wasn't there to coach Fields and he said Lawrence was the "best QB ever" Rumors have been that he wants to coach Trevor Lawrence in the NFL. Probably why he wants to come here.

"Speaking to Mike Sando of The Athletic, the anonymous executive commented about Meyer possibly being a head coach in the NFL:

"It smells like he just wants Trevor Lawrence," the executive said. "Good for him, and if I were to draft Lawrence, I would look for the best head coach."

Even though Meyer is about as loyal as a high dollar hooker, it will be a fun ride with him and everyone can soak in the media attention and prime time games we have so desperately craved for a quarter of a century.

If this is all true, we won't get the best GM candidate out there. The best GM candidates are gonna want to hire their own coach. If we force Urban Meyer on them, that is gonna seriously limit who wants this job. Meyer wouldn't last 3 years in the NFL with his health issues either. That's why he keeps quitting. Coaching is like an addiction for him and if he keeps going, it will eventually kill him. Gimme a guy like Brian Daboll over Meyer, any day of the week.

You do realize Urban Meyer ran that stupid 4-3 hybrid defense that is very similar to what we have now? He'd probably choose a DC that would continue that scheme. Is that what we really want? I don't think so.

If it’s Urban (and the rumors are heating up), I am more concerned with who the coordinators are.

Apparently he already has a staff in place. Rhule came from the college ranks and did well with his staff.

Urban will be a boom or bust. I would like Daboll but if it’s Urban (definitely not my choice) I’ll get behind it and hope he doesn’t ruin Trevor.

I definitely wouldn't like it, but I'd try to be optimistic. We'd still have Trevor, so at least we'd have our QB.

Although I would never understand why teams hire head coaches before general managers, it seems to quite normal in the NFL. Look at the Niners with Shanahan before hiring Lynch as the General Manager. I don't follow college football, but what is the problem with Urban? Did he leave Ohio state because of the scandal or did he quit on the team? I don't know much about him to have an opinion, tbh.
