Has it been stated publicly by the team that Shad and  Doug are meeting tomorrow?

And then Marrone said that he appreciated Ian Rapoport texting the sources he got the info from over to Marrone, which allowed Marrone to "prep" his family and children so they'd hear it from him first. Per PFT.

Khan's made the decision and is looking, like he said he'd already made the decision when he fired Coughlin. Chicken [BLEEP] move of him to not just tell Marrone that it was over. What does he have to gain by stringing him along? If Marrone's reaction after seeing Rapoport's sources was to "prep his family", that suggests that Rapoport has some very good sources and Khan just straight-up lied to Marrone about it.

If you don't know "it's over" after fielding a 1-15 team, that's on him, but then again, for the most situationally unaware HC in NFL history, maybe he really didn't know?

I mean, you have to be kidding me right? Owner does not have to tell anyone about his negotiations. I like marrone, but you have to be prepared to be fired after you have the worst record in the league and your GM was already canned.

I mean, it's not like Khan hasn't gone up to him after every other terrible year and said, "Hey, nice work, we'll get 'em next year," so maybe there was a chance? I mean, Hue Jackson kept his job.

But yeah, it's more of a thing for me where, if you know it and he knows it, why lie at that point? It's not like you've got five more games  or a playoff run to worry about.

I don't know what proper NFL etiquette for firing a coach is. You either do it or downplay speculation until you are ready to do it.

Jets fired Gase. Why does Marrone still have a job?!?!??!?!?!

Do it on the plane Shad.

I wonder if the source knows that Ian Rapoport has a big mouth haha

I'm pretty sure he meant it allowed him to prep his family for the report coming out.  He mentioned how difficult it was for his family last year when the rumors of him being fired started and that it's always difficult for the families of coaches of players any time there's controversy, so he appreciated the opportunity to get in front of it.

I'm pretty sure he knows the writing is on the wall, but he clearly still has a schedule to keep tomorrow before he meets with Shad.  I'm not sure why Shad would lie about there being no legs to the Urban rumor.

Doug's family will be fine.

Did Doug buy another home because this isn't the house that he purchased when he moved here, became HC?

Its owned by him re: the COJ property appraiser.

Purchased in April of 2018 for 2.8M. Him making a profit will be the best thing he has done here.

Going 1-15? yeah, you about to be fired

Khan should have had the gonads to fire him earlier, sometime during the second half of this season

Lol... Marrone asking Kahn about talking to Urban, when he wins 1 game the whole season. And a bigger "lol" to Shad for playing dumb, and not just telling Marrone that his lame [BLEEP] is fired.

The 2 of them talking is like Harry and Lloyd

Anyone else having shades of Nick Saban NFL failures? And does that mean we blow the Lawrence plans. I shudder to think
