And that was a long time ago.  Saban and Spurrier are more recent.

Saban spent a couple years as a Defensive Coordinator under Belichick in Cleveland, actually.

I’m more interested in the coordinators than Urban at the moment.

That makes me extremely happy. He was one of my top 3 candidates. Now, I'm feeling pretty good.

I am more comfortable with Fontenot than Baalke.

I think it's gonna be hard to judge his coordinators until we see them. I bet they are all from the college ranks.

The rumors I read on Twitter is that he is leaning heavy on NFL coaches, specifically former Head Coaches for his staff.

This is good news. That way we'll have experienced coaches on staff to step in as interim HC when Meyer quits in a couple years.

The number of coaches with no prior NFL experience moving from College to the NFL doesn't inspire much confidence.  Here's hoping we got Jimmy Johnson and not Steve Spurrier.

You're all outdated...from what I've read it's not even odd or uncommon to hire a coach first. Like I said you farts are talking out your bleeps and your bumpkin mentalities are the reason the Jags have been a laughing stock. It's the BUMPKIN mentality of this town!!!

Not a chance. I have zero concerns about that. In fact, after watching Fields' press conference after the National Championship game, I'm not even convinced he is declaring. He sounded like a man who wasn't finished playing college football.

If we don't have the ability to draft Trevor Lawrence, he doesn't agree to coach for us. There is now more than ever 0% chance we draft Fields.

I keep hearing people say that, and it concerns me.  But only because people are saying it, and not because I believe it.  I just don't see the connection.  Meyer left Ohio State before Justin Fields arrived.

So because we're fans we can't have opinions?

Because Khan invests millions it guarantees he makes the right coaching choices?  Because we don't invest as much as Khan we have no interest/stake in the fortunes of the Jaguars?

The fans mentalities are why the Jaguars went 1-15 this past season and that we've had one winning season since 2008?? 

If your point is that some are worrying too much over the sequence of hire, fine.  Cite your examples showing the opposite sequence has worked fine if you wish to bolster your argument.  Dismissing the other side of the argument as having a "bumpkin mentality" without citing ANY evidence whatsoever makes you as guilty you claim everyone else here to be.
