God, I hate to say this, but the Titans are making some really good moves. Denico Autry and Bud Dupree should really help their pass rush.

Maybe they’re finally going to get some good bargains instead of overpaying on day 1. The one that hurts the most is Lawson but hey.... still some really good dudes out there.

Im still holding out hope with some of the names still out there but it doesnt feel like weve really improved today.

So....I guess we’re not trying to get much better this year? Only two ways to add, free agency and the draft. Sure, we’ll get a qb in the draft. Not unimportant. But what have we significantly upgraded today?

Thankfully all that extra help on the O line and franchising Cam will protect our boy wonder

1. Obviously it happens sometimes, but 90+% of the time significantly more money gets you the player.

2. It was probably the Lions. We were rumored to be in on him but not as strongly as they were.

3. If Meyer comes out and says sorry guys we tried. We offered Johnson and Lawson more years and double digit more millions guaranteed and they just didn't want to come to Jacksonville then I will apologize. The evidence we have so far (admittedly Jonnu is the only real example) is simply that other teams wanted them more. Meyer was hellbent on fixing his beloved special teams and let the impact players slip through his hands.

This is my issue. I get guys may pick somewhere else but we have the most cap and adding Trevor Lawrence. It shouldn't be that hard a sell.

Who are we waiting to throw all this cap at?

#becausejaguars
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

The Jaguars also have agreed to terms with defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris, receiver Jamal Agnew, defensive back Rudy Ford, running back Carlos Hyde and safety Rayshawn Jenkins.

..........

Anthony Lynn had high praise for Rayshawn Jenkins:

A cheaper alternative could be Rayshawn Jenkins, who missed just one start the last two seasons for the Chargers, where he played for Anthony Lynn. He’s played both the strong and free safety positions, as well as in the slot. “Putting him at free safety, he made it hard for our second-round draft pick to get on the football field,” Anthony Lynn said. “Rayshawn just got better and better. I mean, he finish as one of the top-five free safeties in the game last year, in my opinion. And he’s just going to take it to another level.”

So basically on the first available day to negotiate with free agents, the Jaguars have done virtually nothing.

If I was a big name FA and I had a few teams wanting to sign me and the Jags were one of them teams, I'm not choosing the Jags.

I'd go with the team that pays me the most and has the best chance to win.

Something tells me they think Dorsett is the better upgrade (he's not). Nothing from today makes me feel like we're heading in a new direction, still plenty of time for that to change for sure but not jumping for joy at the moment.

I feel it's now 24-3 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.  A victory is still possible, but we would need to play almost perfect.  A loss feels almost assured and a total disaster feels more likely than not.  This is happening in a game where we were heavy favorites.  Wow.  I didn't see this coming.

Carlos Hyde tho ?

So I just got off work, I’m trying to figure out who all is left. Are any of these guys signed or are they still available?

-Carlos Dunlap
-Shaquil Griffin
-Juju
-Hunter Henry
-Kenny Galloday
-Trent Williams

Not super interested in all of those but they were some of the bigger-ish names left from what I could gather.

Otherwise it has been relatively underwhelming so far.
