Damn, a steal for the Texans. Would of much rather him than Hyde, of course he wasn't available when we signed Hyde We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Guys left I'd take on the flyer on in the discount days of free agency:
Duke Johnson - 27, Best 3rd down back in the game. James White - 29, him too. Malik Hooker - 25, coming off an Achilles has clearly reduced the price tag Xavier Woods - 26, more help at safety Jadeveon Clowney - 28, never have enough pass rushers. Melvin Ingram - 32, ditto Austin Reiter 29, interior O-line help “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
I’m loving the Griffin addition. He was a stud for Seattle’s D

Tyler Eifert- 30, bring him back cheap and compete for a role. My concern with Clowney is in recovery with another knee injury and no sacks last year in 8 games played.

He was only penalized twice and gave up only 3 sacks in his first year at LT. He also graded out at 70.1, which is way higher than any of our OT's. With him at LT and Reiff at RT, the Bengals are set. I look for Cincinnati to either take Pitts or trade down. I'd offer them the #25, #33 and A.J. Can to move up into that spot. Cincinnati will still take Penei Sewell. Turns out they got a steal on Reiff. Signed him 1 year $7.5 million with $5.5 million guaranteed. That is a steal and is what a real insurance policy looks like. He is way better than any of our OT's on the roster and we're gonna be paying Cam Robinson twice that amount and Taylor $2.5 million to be half the players. What a missed opportunity to upgrade for cheap!

Way over paid, we got Marvin Jones for 2 years 14 mil who's just as good lol (03-20-2021, 10:27 AM)JagFanatic24 Wrote: I would really like to have Hooker. I was a little surprised that Meyer didn't go after him due to their Ohio State connection. He is probably hesitant due to Hooker's injury concerns. However, now that they've signed Jenkins Urban may try to get Hooker on a discount for a season to see if he's past the injuries. Sidney Jones was acquired due to the same concerns and it looks like the team liked what they saw last season. I'd definitely prefer a healthy Malik Hooker to Jarrod Wilson. I explained it on the college board and I'll give the short version here. ![]() (03-21-2021, 11:29 AM)flgatorsandjags Wrote: https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1373...97632?s=19 Even with the Jaguars entering the FA period with the most salary cap space, I'm of the opinion that for the Jaguars situation, the investment in Marvin Jones under the terms he signed for is a better decision than if the Jaguars would have signed Kenny Golladay at even close to what the Giants gave him. Marvin Jones is a much more experienced player than Kenny Golladay and hence far better equipped to aid Trevor Lawrence with mental components of playing QB in the NFL. The fact that the Jaguars agreed to terms with Marvin Jones only hours after the legal tampering period began speaks volumes of the overall value that OC Darrell Bevell believes Jones will bring to Jacksonville. Even if age / wear and tear catch up to Jones in 2021 or 2022, I think the signing will end up bring a good decision because priority # 1 for the Jags in this time frame should be the development of Trevor Lawrence. Because Bevell coached Jones for 2 seasons with the Lions, he knows what he can expect from Jones day in, day out.
The TMD factor says we got the better player because he has a more 'normal' name.

I always believe in building via the trenches. Have a solid O-Line in place and then get a franchise QB. You must protect the QB. The Bengals didn't do that last season and it bit them in the butt. Now, it appears they have learned their lesson and have 2 good OT's in place for Burrow. They just need to draft Sewell for the future and focus on the interior O-Line. We had the benefit of having a decent interior, yet we've ignored the dire need at OT.

The dline is just as important to the defense and the oline is to the offense. You need both to have a good football team

Of course it's also because our d-line last year was the way it was. |
