I googled him, because, like you, I was curious about this injury update, and all I found was that he tested positive for Covid yesterday.  

I get the feeling Caleb Farley is this year's Myles Jack.

The guy has had two "back procedures" and hasn't played in over 500 days.  

I think I would take him off my board until pick #45.

Fair enough. I think he is the best man to man CB in the draft, but the back issue scares me. Multiple injuries to the back are different than knee or leg injuries. They just don't always completely heal. I tend to shy away from players with chronic back/neck injuries. Farley certainly has the talent, but I'm betting he probably has a shorter career than many other CB's in this class. That brings up the question, would you rather take an elite CB who may only give you 5 years before they are forced to retire or would you rather have a solid, yet unspectacular CB who will have a 10 year career?

I think I would take the 5 year guy, as long as he doesn't leave me with a bunch of dead money on my cap.

The trouble with Farley, though, is that I can't be sure he will play at all.

Speaking of needs, the more I think about it the more I feel like we have to be disciplined and not take a WR at 25 barring someone like Waddle or Smith falling. Marvin Jones is here for at least a year and will be on the field whenever he’s healthy. Chark is a stud. Viska is a monster in waiting and Colin Johnson showed a lot. I know you can never have too many offensive studs to support your new QB but the defense just has places someone else can help the team more imo. Also I feel like Marshall or either of the Moore’s will be there at 33 or 45 and I don’t know that there’s a massive difference between those 3 if you’re dead set on getting another guy at wideout

Unless Farley is affected like Armstead by COVID, I can't see how it would impact his stock. I mean, Trevor had it too, right?

I can see Farley falling to the 20s, and if the back checks out, someone is going to walk away from this darft with a steal.

Myles Jack is a good comparison. I'd say most Jaguar fans would say they were happy with getting him in round 2. All those injury concerns brought out before that draft seem to have disappeared. 

I don't know how much work the Jaguars have done on evaluating the effects of Farley's back injury going forward. Obviously, if there is enough concern on the part of the medical staff he should not be considered with pick 25 or even 33 for that matter. The extent of my expertise on back injuries is quite limited so I'll leave that up to the doctors!

I agree totally with this. I have little doubt that at least one of Rondale Moore, Marshall or Toney will fall to 45. My hope is that the Jaguars end up round 2 with one of these receivers plus Pat Feirmuth. This would give Lawrence an abundance of pass catching threats to rely on. I know some are down on Freirmuth, but I'm sticking to the belief he will be a very reliable target at tight end who can also be a satisfactory run blocker.

Shaving a herniation off of a disc in your back leaves a weak spot. It's probably going to get injured again and again until Farley finally has spinal fusion surgery. He might be worth the risk if he falls to the 3rd, but I wouldn't want to touch him earlier than that.

It has already gotten injured again, he had a second surgery not long ago...and apparently team doctors are already saying he will likely need a 3rd.

I had read that report on Twitter from last night mentioning that the Pats are working on a new deal for Jimmy G. I could see Jimmy G being moved back to them. I could see the 49ers move him relatively quickly (possibly during the draft) after they draft a QB tonight at #3.

Or it could mean they don’t believe Barmore will be there at 25.  I also think if we really like McNiel we wouldn’t let out what round we like him in.  If we do really like him I think we take him at 45 because if we really liked him for our 3rd round pick and anther team like him too, they would just jump us to get him and we lose our player

I like McNeil a lot, but he is basically the same kind of player Malcolm Brown is. We also have Da'Von Hamilton who is a huge run-stuffer as well. Who many NT types do we need?
