Imagine getting vaccinated and they still have you breath your own warm, foul breath and you were selected by the team to represent them. I wonder if Vegas had an over/under on how many times they would say fully vaccinated.

He poopoos the Jags for ordaining TL as the next great thing before seriously entertaining trading the pick for other valuable picks.

Meanwhile, he previously claimed if Carolina could trade up and acquire TL, it would be the master stroke for long-term improvement of the team and help to enlarge their fanbase in, you guessed it, his resident state of South Carolina.

Up yours, Vic.

Carter from Fernandina Beach, FL
Vic, I imagine your comments regarding Trevor Lawrence on Monday led to an interesting inbox on Tuesday. Yet, aren't the questions/issues you raise exactly the kinds of questions/issues an NFL GM must address and answer regarding every draft pick, let alone the first pick in the draft? That said, if you were acting as the Jags' GM, is there any other pick you would make at No. 1? If Lawrence's name isn't on the card turned into the league, I would imagine it would be torches and pitchforks and tar and feathers coming to One Stadium Place.
So what would it be if Lawrence is a bust? Oh, that's OK, everyone said he was the right pick? It doesn't work that way. A franchise twists and turns with every first-round pick it makes. It agonizes over what player it should select. I haven't seen enough agonizing by the Jaguars. This pick was made months ago. Is there another player I would pick with the first overall selection? I don't think that's the right question to ask. Lawrence belongs in the top spot. The question is should the Jaguars trade that pick and collect the king's ransom that would help the Jaguars rebuild quickly? Could they trade the pick and still get the quarterback they need? I haven't seen enough debate along those lines.

Michael from Sanford, FL
Regarding Dustin from Orlando, "The Jaguars donated $11,203 to Trevor Lawrence as a wedding gift to give to his charities. He, in turn, donated $20,000 to Jaguars charities. Something about this rubs me the wrong way. I'm assuming it's allowed but it just doesn't sit well with me. What's your take on it, Vic?" That's a significant misrepresentation of facts. Jags fans bought him and his wife a high-tech toaster and then kept at it by donating money to charities he supports. In return, they donated $20K to charities based in Jacksonville. The Jaguars organization had nothing to do with any of it, and that detail seems important to me.
My answer remains the same: Too close too soon. You people are so love-struck with Lawrence you're acting like teenage girls. Buy him a wedding gift?
Agreed completely. Our team treated him the best, and he still thinks of us the worst. When I read about how his interactions with the packers were, I keep wondering ‘then why did you go?’ Maybe it was cause he knew weaver was selling, but still. His takes on us now that he is independent have been less than generous. He also is having a lot of issue with internal consistency. Like when he claims the 2019 season should be weighed more cause everyone played, but then still defends Wilson going second overall, even tho he sucked against good comp, and was fighting for his job in 2019.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

They don't let just anybody sit in the "fully vaccinated" section.

No RBs taken are making me feel uncomfortable, was hoping someone would take them off the board before our pick.

disagee.

Najee is a really good pass catcher for a half back.

Trent Richardson was only 5-9. Najee is 6-2

Giants will probably take Darrisaw, but if not I really hope he falls to us somehow.

I love when they show the fans of the team picking and you can tell they don’t have a clue about who they just picked.

Well this is where we see what Baalke brings to the table. Lawrence was an easy pick.
