Ramsey Trade Outcome

This would be the worst trade in franchise history when it comes to timing. Not saying Jalen is not an ELITE Cb - He is. I'm saying i wouldn't trade 2 1st rounders (2022 & 2023) for him - Henderson, Campbell and Griffin are suffice enough to not sacrifice our 2 first rounders when we already have our Franchise QB. If we didn't trade him... there is no Trevor Lawrence. That's a fact. So... there's that too. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Are we going to pretend having the absolute best CB in football is WORSE than 2 first round picks? Fowler/Fournette/Bryan/Chaison/Henderson. Yeah I don't disagree of our trading of him.. he didn't want to be here obviously. But i would absolutely trade 2 first rounders for that kind of talent. Maybe not at DB now because I feel we are in a good position there right now. But just in theory if I could get like.. idk someone of his age when we traded him, with like aaron donald type production I would. I'm a firm believer in proven talent vs unproven. Cause like I said, of our last 10 first round picks, Ramsey was the only one that was worth the selection. I do completely disagree with his actions. But if I put myself in his, yannicks or anyone else on that 2017 teams shoes. I can understand not wanting to be in a place where Blake Bortles got a contract extension for the playoff run, while the actual players who won us games got no such pay increase.
yeah that front office turned into a disaster after 2017. Looking forward to turning the page.

It is interesting, I hadn't considered having Ramsey on the team would have kept us from drafting Trevor Lawrence. I guess we will be able to revisit this at the end of the next 2 seasons.

Ramsey couldn’t be trusted to put team first, we definitely won with this trade. Glad to be rid of him.

Respect the game. Play with a sense of urgency.
1.) Take care of the ball. Win the turnover battle. 2.) It's all about 3rd down. Win on 3rd down to win the game. 3.) Playmakers make plays. The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays. Learn from the great collapse of 2023. The Jets wound up a game ahead of us and had the tiebreaker on us. I don't think Ramsey would have won us two more games. It's very possible we could have Tlaw and Ramsey right now. So yet again another former Jaguars player ends up with the last laugh??? Is that the crux of this thread topic?
We lost 6 games that were 1 score games last year. 4 of those were field goal or less margins. The likelihood that we wind up with only 1 win last year with a committed and competing Ramsey is pretty close to nil in my opinion. Like him or not, he’s very good and possibly HoF bound. His presence on the field allows for more plays to be made on defense either by him or by teammates benefitting from an opposing QB hesitating at throwing his way.
The Rams didn’t give up the #1 overall pick, that was a product of our situation. However, the trade did lead us to Lawrence. The trade was a win/win for both teams because each got what it needed. I just hope Lawrence winds up as good as projected.

Too many variables than just the 2 first round picks really. Would I trade 2 first round picks to get him back? Absolutely not. I like this rationale. That makes everything worth while. Conversely, I don't compare the Ramsey offset to being Chaisson even though that was the pick we used to get him. I think a direct result of losing Ramsey was reaching for CJ Henderson in which case, either pick may be just as bad .... or hopefully just as good. ..... that fact that the dump resulted in the Jags getting Trevor is a major win. Not really, I wanted to vent a little and see what other fans thought. I thought the Rams were going to have a worse record even with Ramsey so I thought we would have higher picks to offset Ramsey. I voted the Rams but that is the immediate result. Chiasson and Etienne as the replacement first rounders is too early to tell. I do like the shift in discussion to the fact we probably would have won a few more games and lost out on Trevor. I hadn't considered that when I voted. Logical back and forth discussion is good off season threads. It helps to know what everyone thinks even if it ran rah or boo hiss side of things.

We have to remember as well that last year he would have been playing under the fifth year option. I can't imagine him playing under that, and demanding a new deal or a trade. Just think if we broke the bank for him, we may have won a game or two on accident, missed out on the top pick and also lacked the cap room to sign guys like Manhertz and Hyde or franchise Cam. Maybe this was a deal where everyone got a little hurt.

I see no one calling rodgers a cry baby, i see people agreeing with him. Jalen wanting out was extreme but he was right to feel disrespected. Everyone on our team should have felt disrespected when Blake got paid for their work in 2017. Didn't the Rams trade for Ramsey to win a SB. If they do not, isn't that a failure?
