I understand why we traded him, obviously. But if he wasn't disgruntled and wasn't acting like a clown. Are we going to pretend having the absolute best CB in football is WORSE than 2 first round picks? Fowler/Fournette/Bryan/Chaison/Henderson. 

I'd say we could have traded all 5 of those first for him, and the outcome would be better for us. Also, if we did trade our next 2 first round picks for him they are either late first rounders, or early first rounders and if they were early.. we probably missed on QB.

It is interesting, I hadn't considered having Ramsey on the team would have kept us from drafting Trevor Lawrence. I guess we will be able to revisit this at the end of the next 2 seasons.

That's definitely not a fact. The Jets wound up a game ahead of us and had the tiebreaker on us. I don't think Ramsey would have won us two more games. It's very possible we could have Tlaw and Ramsey right now.

We lost 6 games that were 1 score games last year. 4 of those were field goal or less margins. The likelihood that we wind up with only 1 win last year with a committed and competing Ramsey is pretty close to nil in my opinion. Like him or not, he’s very good and possibly HoF bound. His presence on the field allows for more plays to be made on defense either by him or by teammates benefitting from an opposing QB hesitating at throwing his way.

The Rams didn’t give up the #1 overall pick, that was a product of our situation. However, the trade did lead us to Lawrence. The trade was a win/win for both teams because each got what it needed. I just hope Lawrence winds up as good as projected.

Hard to say. If Ramsey stayed, are the Jags as bad as last year to get Lawrence? Too many variables than just the 2 first round picks really. Would I trade 2 first round picks to get him back? Absolutely not.

I started a thread a while back stating this.  There's no way we end up with the 1st overall pick if Ramsey is on this team last year so I would include part of the value of 1.01 personally.  I know the Rams didn't give up more than what they gave us, so to me, it's a win win for both teams and Ramsey's departure absolutely contributed to us landing Lawrence.

I like this rationale.  That makes everything worth while.

Conversely, I don't compare the Ramsey offset to being Chaisson even though that was the pick we used to get him.  I think a direct result of losing Ramsey was reaching for CJ Henderson in which case, either pick may be just as bad .... or hopefully just as good.

.....  that fact that the dump resulted in the Jags getting Trevor is a major win.

We have to remember as well that last year he would have been playing under the fifth year option. I can't imagine him playing under that, and demanding a new deal or a trade. Just think if we broke the bank for him, we may have won a game or two on accident, missed out on the top pick and also lacked the cap room to sign guys like Manhertz and Hyde or franchise Cam.

Maybe this was a deal where everyone got a little hurt.

I see no one calling rodgers a cry baby, i see people agreeing with him. Jalen wanting out was extreme but he was right to feel disrespected. Everyone on our team should have felt disrespected when Blake got paid for their work in 2017.
