I think we're going to see a lot of 2 week COVID-positive tests for the vaccinated, since it's mandatory regardless of how you feel.

I'm referring to those who have been hospitalized.

However, what you're saying is correct. This is where they need to draw a delineation between infected with COVID and exposed to COVID. I'm by no means a medical professional, but it seems to me when an asymptomatic and vaccinated person tests positive for the virus with a nasal swab, this only means they've been exposed to the virus. Does it also mean they can become infectious? Common sense tells me no and the eggheads need to get together and come up with a unified plan of action on how to deal with that scenario. Looking at the hospitalization rates, those who are vaccinated are in no danger to themselves or to others.

In the meantime, the paranoiacs need to get the shot.

We made it through the season last year.  What were the rules and procedures last year?

See.. that's why it could be a quagmire. Last year they had contract tracing and bubbles and all that stuff. That's getting lessened by a crapton.

Someone could theoretically get COVID, have zero symptoms, have it around every other unvaxxed and vaxxed player for 2 whole weeks.. and suddenly the whole team has COVID.

Potential quagmire.

Testing, testing, testing. However, the vaccine has introduced a twist and a turn to who should get tested and how often. If they're going to forfeit games, then they might as well go back to what they were doing last season until they can figure out if people who are vaccinated but test positive are actually infectious.

So all of histories learning on the science of disease are suddenly meaningless because it is COVID? The testing program is stupid.  There is no asymptomatic spread and if there is and you are spreading to people and they are asymptomatic what is the point.  My care is compromised by COVID.  They wasted half of my day in the emergency room due to COVID and at the end of the day I have pneumonia which for my health is worse than COVID.  I took the stupid vaccine and it doesn't mean piss really.

Well except...

Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage

Are we really concerned that young men in the prime of their NFL careers with access to nutrition, training regimes, top notch doctors really even need to be COVID tested?

That's why the "science" of COVID confounds me.

Before the vaccine some scientists said people that are asymptomatic can't spread the virus. But a larger portion said, yes, even asymptomatic people can spread it.

Now... after the vaccine... they almost all seem to now say that no, asymptomatic people cannot spread the virus....

So... it's hard to trust anything.

The vaxxed folks will start getting sick this fall.

"Larger trials of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines are in progress, with results expected in mid-2021." If you've taken it, you are a lab rat. Congrats.

Children are largely asymptomatic and not infectious, so that tells me vaccinated folks who are asymptomatic aren’t either.

Look, I saw an actor play a doctor on TV once. I know what I’m talking about.

Well, I used to watch House.. so I'm the best non-TV diagnostician in the world... since it's not really an official title. lol

The use of science will be whatever causes the most fear or inconvenience. I just don't understand the league testing the heck out of a group of people that are nowhere near the risk pool for this thing. Honestly if they were this serious about head trauma, we could have less long term memory issues for these players.

At least a couple of coaches are now walking away from their jobs due to not wanting to take the vaccine. The Vikings OL coach Rick Dennison just left his position and the team because he refuses to take the vaccine. Patriots co-offensive line coach Cole Popovich will also not be with his team in the upcoming season due to not wanting to take the vaccine and the NFL's new guidelines.

They may not like it, but the NFL is their employer and are able to make these rules. Both of them are walking away from good jobs.

I bet Ryquell Armstead could give you some insight as to why they test these players.

CJ Henderson has just been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list as well. I hope he ends up being okay too.

Weak genetics are weak genetics....

So.. he is the only player out of... what, 3,000? What's that percentage?

But.. I'm not even against the testing. I'm just a natural contrarian.

Riiiigghtt -  So let's not make any effort to protect world class athletes  - because you claim some just "have weak genetics."

It's not a [BLEEP] herd of mule deer.

These are athletes that individual owners amongst a huge corporation collectively invest BILLIONS of dollars into. The owners and the league have a very vested interest in protecting these men, their ability to stay healthy, entertain, and generate billions more dollars of income.

Legally they are discriminating against some players. You probably won't find a judge who will apply the laws though.

The NFL is missing the mark by testing vaccinated players, there's no guidance that indicates they should do that.
