To be fair I don't think anyone ever doubted Meyer's character. I know I remarked he would be 'our scumbag'. 

The question was more whether his intense hatred of losing would help us(and him) becoming good before he'd flame out.

You have to be related to Meyer to have such an unpopular opinion. He was hurting our team. They weren't just rumors. Everyday it was something new. When you have this many incidents from one guy, they are no longer rumors, they are facts. He was a bad guy who who was bad at his job and he was rightfully fired, because he made a toxic workplace environment. When that many people hate him, he needs to seriously do some self-reflection and figure out why he is coming off this way and try to fix it.

Exactly how many people hated him? The media and jaded Gator fans? I got no indication the players hated him. We look like FOOLS allowing the media to fire our coach!

I will agree that thus far he hadn't given any tests on the field. If anything that would be a reason for termination, but all the rumors and bad guy stuff...pffft...this city and team needs some notoriety.

The media didnt fire anyone in this situation, they only reported what was happening. And only a small portion, it turns out. Pellisaro didnt report anything that has been proven false.

Agreed.  I wasn't expecting Urban to be fired so quickly, figuring Khan would have the same level of patience he had with the previous head coaches under his tenure.  It's refreshing to see that he didn't sit on his hands and allow this to fester any longer.  I liked the hire when Urban was brought in.  I thought that despite his obvious personality quirks, the guy was a winner and that would eventually translate to the NFL.  He said all the right things immediately after the hire, but as we progressed, a lot of the things he did left me scratching my head wondering what he was doing.  

It only got worse as the losses started piling up.  When he wasn't willing to take any responsibility for things like Robinson being benched, or for giving Minshew more reps with the first team in training camp and the preseason than the guy we all knew was starting for this team, it was hard to defend.  

After the incident in Ohio at his bar, I was pretty much done with Urban.  It was a horrible look to see the guy not flying back with his team, and I think many of the players felt the same way afterwards as well.  He lost the locker room, and he lost the fans.  I guess Khan decided it wasn't worth it to let this thing linger any longer.

Let's hope they recognize the mistake in not only hiring Urban as the head coach, but also Trent Baalke as the GM.  Clean house and find us legit guys to fill those two roles so that we don't destroy Trevor and fracture the fan base completely and irreparably.  The fans deserve better.

You are all stuck with me as I continue my support of this franchise. My wife is mad at me because she doesn't believe Khan will turn it around and wanted to follow a new team.

As a social media outcast, I appreciate this board for collecting so much information. I appreciate everyone's posts and the discussions. This has been a rough year for the fans. Probably the lowest point of the franchise. I hope the tough work happens from here forward.
