He absolutely deserves and has more than earned any interview he gets around the NFL. It's just hard to put an exact measurement on much it's him Vs. Arians Vs. Brady. 

I know, I know, I know. It's been reported that he has been calling the plays for the Buccaneers and that him joining Arians had a major role in Arians even wanting to continue to coach. Leftwich has also been around some great football teams as a player and as a coach. He could end up being one of Bruce Arians first successful coaches under him to move on and do some good things in the NFL at the head position. 

Bowles and Kitchens didn't really pan out as head coaches. However, I do think and believe that Bowles should and will eventually get another shot at that somewhere. As good as Brady was in that Superbowl. I cannot believe how understated and how quiet the headlines were regarding how effective his defense was against the Chiefs in that win. 

They had an answer for virtually everything and that was AFTER they were dismantled by the Chiefs in the regular season. That's always an excellent mark of a great coach. Learning and adjusting. Not making the same mistakes more than once. 

With Leftwich though? I don't know. Is he really ready? Because Tampa's overall roster and talent from top down is S-T-A-C-K-E-D.

One of our beat writers were talking to ESPN Houston and reported that Leftwich really wants the head coaching job here and if he had his pick it would be us.

I’d like seeing JDR back

Thank You ... I 100% agree, but posters will blame him for the lack of talent, and being mediocre. He got the most out of the players Shack gave him.  JDR coached teams were very competitive. Without a quarterback that had the talent of T-Law.  Imagine if you gave the Jaguars a high end Quarterback on JDR's coached team(s).  He just doesn't get the credit he is due. Take Brees off of Payton's NOS team ... What do you have? Del-Rio coached a less than mediocre roster into a hard win for any opponent. Straight up, I would take him over Tomlin, and I only say that because I think they compare pretty equally.

In summary, Tomlin is a head coach who in his 14 full seasons has won the division title 7 times plus another 2 wild card appearances and never finished a single season with a losing record.  He's a Super Bowl winner and also appeared in another and has 8 playoff wins to his credit.  On the other side, Del Rio has as many losing seasons as winning seasons.  His overall record has more losses than wins.  He never won a division title in 12 years and has only won 1 playoff game.  It doesn't feel very comparable to me.

Someone earlier said Khan's getting wiser on this stuff. I couldn't disagree more. Both of the last debacles have because Khan has bought into a "story". Story 1 - Bring Tom Coughlin "back home" and give him ultimate authority. Hire a coach willing to answer to Coughlin (Marrone). Story 2 - Bring one of the best College Coaches of all time "back home" to Florida and hand him ultimate athority.

In both cases Khan was so enamored by the story, that he disregarded all the Red Flags.

This years "story" is "bring Byron Leftwich home". Here's the red flags on him: Has he been in demand? No. He's only been hired by one guy in his entire coaching career. Bruce Arians. In Arizona, in 2018 he was Qb coach and then OC and was given their Top 10 1st rounder Josh Rosen to develop. At the end of 1 year, the new regime had enough of Rosen and Leftwich and one was released and the other fired.

Arians hires him again at Tampa for 2019. Again he is OC and this time given a #1 overall pick to work with with (Winston), Again after one season with Leftwich, the Bucs let Winston go. Turnovers led Winston to be ranked #27 among QBs.

But then the best QB of all time shows up in 2020 and they win the SuperBowl. Teams were so impressed by Leftwich that not one single team requested to interview him. But now that there's; an opening in Jax, the media want to slot him there Not for me.

Pederson makes the most sense. But man o man the amount of research I would be doing to find out what went wrong in Philly..........

If Pederson passes the test, I get him Dobbs the Asst GM from Indy.

If you don't feel good about Pederson, I like the idea of Nate Hackett. Has been hired by 3 different coaches (Gruden Marrone, and LeFluer). Since you have a first time coach hire Jim Caldwell in a Coughlin-like capacity but without the power. Give your first year coach a wise mentor to lean on. Dobbs as GM for him also.

Probably. How else can you explain this team's 10 year run with Khan? Every year we keep saying "It can't get any worse", then, a new person comes into the building and they're like "What's that? Can't get any worse you say? Here, hold my beer".

Did everyone see James Lofton's list on tv of his top 5 coaching candidates for Jacksonville?  With the possible exception of Byron Leftwich, the list is laughably bad.  Here are the other four:

• Darrell Bevell (Because this year was so successful?)
  
• Charlie Strong (Ditto)
  
• Dabo Swinney (Another college coach with zero NFL experience?)
  
• Leslie Frazier (Better than the above, but isn't this team far more likely to hire an offensive coach?)
  

Let's hope he isn't part of the search committee.

I would like to see Kellen Moore as HC and Chris Culmer as GM. While Leftwich is doing a great job in Tampa, it’s kinda easy when you have TB12 as your QB. Moore is running the 2nd best offense in the league with Dak Prescott as the QB which in my opinion is a harder fear. Chris Culmer is the chief scout for the Arizona Cardinals and they have been doing a pretty good job drafting the last few years. At this point just about anyone would be better at this point. Not real high on the Doug Pederson talk. If I’m not mistaken, there hasn’t ever been a coach to win a Super Bowl with 2 different teams, and I don’t think he’s going to be the exception.
