I actually don't mind Leftwich or Hackett. Brady and Rodgers both think highly of them which must count for something. Also for Leftwich Tampa had a top 5offence in yards and points before Brady arrived I think. Winston just threw it to the other team too much.

That's the under-statement of the year.  He had 30 interceptions!  The Bucs were the worst team in the entire NFL in terms of giveaways.  The team had a losing record.  I don't think Leftwich can brag about that season.  His success as an offensive coordinator is exclusively with Brady.

Name a successful OC that doesn't have a good QB.  

I'd prefer a HC with previous HC experience, but I wouldn't complain if they hired Leftwich.

He wouldn't be my pick either but as HC he wouldn't be calling the plays, that would probably continue to be Schotty in that scenario.

The pluses would be that the players have confidence in him and seem to like playing for him. But so they did for Gus so...

Anyway, if they're going to make a clean sweep, then everyone needs to go. If Baalke's staying though, choices may be limited and they could do worse.

I agree with that.  If it comes down to Bevell or BoB, I would definitely go with Bevell.  And he wouldn't be calling the plays.  

That would be the "we just need more and better players" choice.  Continuity with the coaching and the schemes, Cullen stays, Schotty is the OC, etc.  Maybe upgrade a few position coaches.  Just no Urban Meyer.  

Based on rumors and speculation, of course, it would also be the the "we can't find anyone else 'cause no one wants to work with Trent" choice.

Agree with this; and the continuity argument fits perfectly with Khan's past track record, for better or worse. And Cullen with better players would grow even more into a top DC, IMO; he could open up the playbook more and create more schemes. I also get the sense that Bevell is the type of personality that wouldn't be affected by a dysfunctional GM. Always upbeat, but in a realistic sense. Calming influence. Takes the high road when others go low. And seems to have the respect of the locker room.

Apparently Leftwich and Pederson are still front runners but they still want to interview Quinn and Hackett.

This is pretty funny, and it makes you wonder why Leftwich didnt put the clamps on Winston after he hit, say, interception 15. I didnt see many Bucs games that year, so I cant personally judge how many were a result of loose playcalling or how many were just Winston slinging it without regard to INT's. of course, he allegedly couldnt see then, so...

To be fair to Byron, how good you are as a player doesn't really impact your ability to coach. I'd take Sean Payton any day as HC, but his extremely short stint as a chicago bears QB was.... not good. Doug Pederson's time at QB wasn't much better, either. By which I mean they make Blaine Gabbert look like a Hall of Famer.

You forgot to add to throw with the exact same velocity for every pass, regardless of distance to the receiver.

Yep, I agree completely. That's the same reason I have for being concerned about Moore and all the rest of the OCs / DCs. As messed up as the Jaguars' situation is, I think we really need someone with the exoerience to come in and build things the right way.

On 1010 they were saying Pederson is already sitting for interviews with other teams, which most likely indicates Jacksonville didn't float him a viable offer or he has decided he doesn't want to coach here - possibly because of Baalke.

My guess is we're going to see the best dominoes fall one by one until nothing but the bottom of the barrel remains, BOB or Bevell. If Khan insists on the stank of continuity, at least keep Bevell so TL isn't dealing with a whole new process.

It's like we learned nothing from last year.

I just don't see Leftwich leaving his current spot - working with Tom Brady, in the running for an SB ring every year - for anything less than a HC position. It would essentially be a lateral move, right?
