A key word is sometimes.  The Cowboys penalty situation was well beyond that level. 

The Cowboys led the NFL in being called for most penalties and penalty yards in the 2021 regular season. What transpired vs. SF in the playoffs was a carry over from the regular season.

When teams continue to make the same mistakes throughout the year and then carry that over into the playoffs or the following season it tends to point out that coaching is the problem. For the Jags it's been stupid taunting penalties and personal fouls because the coach(es) wouldn't reign in the nonsense, for Dallas is was basic procedure stuff that really shouldn't happen but rarely in the pros. Between 2001 and 2018 the Patriots had the 2nd lowest number of procedure penalties in the League, so any reference by some people to that team should be taken with a boulder of salt.

The failure of Mike McCarthy to get the Cowboys highly problematic regular season penalty situation corrected to a much greater extent than was on display in the playoffs game against the 49ers is something that by itself opens the door for McCarthy to be under justified heat.

In addition to what you mentioned,  which I agree with,  the value of WR DeAndre Hopkins is even greater than I previously thought.  On paper, it looked like the Cardinals had the quality and depth to overcome the knee injury to Hopkins better than most, if not all NFL teams.  That didn't turn out to be even remotely the case.  

Upcoming UFA WR Christian Kirk can be added to the massively overrated list.  In multiple games without Hopkins,  Kirk came up short on plays a WR needs to make on the NFL level.

Just for fun, we should do a pick 'em this week.

I got the Bills over Chiefs, only if Allen is playing like he did last week. Bills are damn good when he's "on" plus it makes our win vs them more impressive if they get to the AFCCG.
Bucs squeak by LA, I don't think LA can beat playoff Tom in Tampa. If this were in LA, I'd pick the Rams.
Pack over SF, I really think SF matches up well here, but I don't think they have the firepower to keep up with the Packers.
Bengals beat the titans. My mind is telling me TEN is better, but my heart won't let me pick them. Lets hope Cincy sends the tacks home.

Me too. I have today off due to us having winter weather here. We got a lot of ice and they are giving us weather leave. Looking forward to watching the games today and catching what I can tomorrow. I'm not sure how my work schedule may be altered for tomorrow.

Regarding the games, I think that the Bengals may beat the Titans. I don't think that the Titans are as big of a lock as some analysts are acting like they are. I also think that the Packers will beat the 49ers. I think that Bucs may beat the Rams, and that the Bills/Chiefs might end up being the closest game and could possibly go either way.
