This franchise finds new ways to trip over it's own feet at every corner. It really is incredible how they continue to do it when you really sit back and think about it. Sorry, can someone help me on one thing I'm not understanding? Caldwell has always been a head coach, right? How would he be positioned to be a GM? Is that a normal thing? I've never heard of that.

And if he interviewed for a head coach spot, why change his mind too?

From what I gathered, Pederson’s 2nd interview will be with only Shad and Tony. No Baalke.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. I want Peterson, and that’s a good sign, but I feel like Leftwich and Wilson are about to get shafted and I feel horrible for them. They would have been a great hire as well.

I don't like the idea of having a first time GM and a first time head coach in charge. Experience matters!

I just want a Head Coach who gets Baalke out of here. I refuse to watch another Jaguars game until he is gone. No reduced power, no demotion, he's gotta be gone or else he will snake his way back into power. That's how this guy operates.

At this stage, the hire will have all the enthusiasm that the tinhorns enjoyed when they announced David Culley last year.

Nobody that was anybody wanted the job, and by the time a decision made, all the other big-name hires had attracted all the headlines. The coach is announced, the few reporters in attendance scramble to see if they can find out who this guy is, and know that he's already doomed just by association with a poisonous franchise.

A scene:
