I watched it earlier on youtube. At one point a Russian says something and the radio jammer plays the tune the General Lee made on Dukes of Hazzard, the name of which escapes me right now. Some confederate thing. I snickered.

Dixie is not "some Confederate thing" miss, it is the anthem of our heritage. Its glorious notes harken to a simpler age in the halcyon days of our mighty Nation when Catherine Bach's legs were the most magnificent monument to our superiority over all other peoples.

(Seriously, the show had nothing to do with slavery or plantations and it depicted black people as normal people... cancel culture went too far there.  A simple message at the beginning of the show, "While the Confederate flag would not be included if this show was produced today, the show was made in a time where the flag was not thought of as a racist or pro-slavery symbol, and the show does not depict racism".  Something like that.

As much as I like muscle cars of the era, the General Lee was definitely not the hottest thing on the show.

As much as I like muscle cars of the era, the General Lee was definitely not the hottest thing on the show.

When I was growing up, I thought Daisy Duke was a brand name for pants like Levi's. Teachers always telling the girls in my class that they weren't allowed to wear Daisy Dukes. Wasn't until the 2005 movie came out that I realized it was a character on a show.

I was raised in the south but not by southern folks. Me and my parents are from Colorado and somehow ended up in FL. I was not raised on "southern pride" or any of that sort of thing and being surrounded by it didn't seem to influence me. It's weird, I know.

While on the surface I agree because the planet doesn't need people reproducing like rabbits, I'm not okay with genocide. Those people didn't do a damn thing to deserve what is happening to them. They're not causing this, the system and the politicians are. They can all go to hell as far as I'm concerned- and sooner rather than later.
