Quote:Idk how that is possible given his height.

A Jimmy Smith type player wouldn't have been worth a top 5 pick?

Oh you mean the guy who didnt produce until a few years into his career?

As much as I like Watkins, I see him more of like a Harvin type. He is mostly used in screens and handoffs. That isnt really what we NEED right now.

Does it even matter as long as he does?

Well ya it matters. You want your high picks to be big contributors right away.

Watkins could do that, but he is a Harvin type. I say go another position.

Smith was injured but that is beyond the point. You wouldn't draft a Jimmy Smith player in the top 5?

Wasnt Calvin not that impressive his first 2 years?

Mack is too much of a risk/reward player imo.

At least with Watkins, you know you're getting a playmaker right away. This team needs immediate help.

With all due respect, if you're comparing Watkins to Harvin, then you aren't thinking about the right player and have no idea who Watkins is.

Watkins is a TO type.  Watkins is VERY physical and has speed to burn.  He's nothing like Harvin at all, unless you consider his incident with the sweet stinky.

Quote:Green is definitely the same type of receiver as CJ. Tall, fast, and amazing hands.

same type, but not as good as the other 2, still worth top 5 pick IMO, as was Blackmon without the off field issues

Then there's this....

From what I've heard, it isn't a one time thing. But that's just hearsay.

Ive seen him play plenty of times. I never thought of him as TO. He is very similar to Harvin or Patterson (minus size).

You just described Harvin (very physical and speed)

Although Watkins is a more polished route runner/catcher than Harvin. They are used in similar ways and play similarly. Watkins is like Harvin 2.0

TO was not really physical with the ball in his hands.

If Harvin didn't have major red flags coming out, he could've been a top 5 pick, and he would've been worth it IMO

Harvin is a small guy.  A slot or 3rd down back.  He's 20-30 pounds lighter than Watkins.

Watkins is a complete WR (probably the most complete in the draft,) which Harvin certainly is not.  Not even close.  Harvin is somewhat a one trick pony, albeit an extremely dangerous one.

I haven't heard of such a bad comparison since Richardson to Sproles.

Lol. Harvin is not that much smaller.

Minnesota ran Harvin as a running back up the middle. He doesnt really have size issues. He runs through tackles often... similar to Watkins.

Alright, I just would rather go pass rusher or QB with our high pick.

This is correct.....if Clowney doesn't fall to us, it's looking like Watkins if St. Louis doesn't grab him.....and I think they may. I think a QB is more likely than Mack at this point 2 days into free agency.
