Who says he wasn't beating Alex Smith for his job? That seemed more of an Andy Reid decision to sit than start him when they were winning games with Alex Smith under center. It would've made no sense to sit Smith when he was easily one of the best QBs in 2017.

Sitting on the bench did not do Mahomes any favors besides learn his diet, his game plan film studies, and adapt his family in the NFL life.

Josh Allen went on to only throw 2 more INTs the entire year. The Colts team went on to win 10 straight and finish the season 13-3. While I don't expect that from us, there's still ZERO reason to think Trevor won't be the guy.

Why? Dont worry about comparing this guy to that guy. We have our QB. Not every team is equal. Minshew didnt play an entire season under Urban Meyer after DJ Chark went out after game 3 and the coach refused to give the ball to JRob. When people compare TLaw stats to the greats they dont care but when it's to Minshew now it's a big deal.

These are some of the top rated QBs now that didn't hit the ground running. Some start out good and some don't. Not everyone has the same learning curve.

Jalen Hurts is not a good QB, but he is doing enough in Philly, he wont have a consistent career. Geno is at best a game manager.

As I've said before Josh Allen is the exception and not the rule when it comes to development.
