Will Trevor figure it out and be our franchise QB?

I'm bored at work so here's some more stats for you guys:
PFR Stats Bad throws, percentage, total drops, drop percentage Allen: 22 throws, 11.5%, 10 drops, 5.2% Herbert: 26 throws, 13.6%, 12 drops, 6.3% Brady: 31 throws, 15.3%, 11 drops, 5.4% Lamar: 27 throws, 19.3%, 7 drops, 5% Hurts: 18 throws, 11.8%, 7 drops, 4.6% Rodgers: 22 throws, 14.1%, 6 drops, 3.6% Mahomes: 30 throws, 16.6%, 10 drops, 5.5 % Trevor: 28 throws, 16%, 14 drops, 8% (of note the past 2 weeks have been 9 drops at 14.25% average) Tell me again where Trevor is not going to be good. He ranks right there in middle of the top 5-10 guys in pretty much every statistic. I'd love to find an "interceptable passes stat" somewhere. I don't have PFF to look at the adjusted comp% but I can guarantee you Trev's would be significant. Even if you just add the 8% drops, He's at 70% accuracy. Then you pick the actual rare exceptions and some dude named Alex Luck and try to spike the ball. Just admit you said a dumb factually incorrect thing and move on. And I've said 1000 times Minshew deserves a start somewhere. It's also clear to anyone Trevor has more talent and upside than Minshew could ever hope to have. Any time someone brings up Minshew as a comparison, they've already lost.
Dude had a chance to be the man here and lost just about every single game in 2020. Thanks for being a dud Minshew!

It's obvious to everyone I'm still pretty high on Minshew, but he had his chance here and blew it. If he was able to win anything and not get us the #1 pick, he probably would have gotten another year or two. He's past his time here. But I think he could start for some teams. ATL, NO (over Dalton anyway), Carolina, Houston, Cleveland (until Watson) I'd love to have him over Beathard as our backup still

He would have been consistently productive with a better team of players and coaches. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

The coach who didn't start him, that's who. If Mahomes as he was in year two had hit the ground running that well his first year then Reid was completely inept to keep him on the bench. The best guy plays and that was Alex Smith whom Mahomes clearly did not outplay year 1. 15 starts for Smith is the proof no matter how you want to distort reality and history to suit your stupid take. Meanwhile, Josh Allen wants you to know you're an idiot too. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

That seemed more of an Andy Reid decision to sit than start him when they were winning games with Alex Smith under center. It would've made no sense to sit Smith when he was easily one of the best QBs in 2017. Mahomes was probably still better, but Alex Smith was having so much success that it wouldn't made sense to put him in as a rookie. His second season was the best passing season of all time. And it was really his rookie season. The only season that even comes close is Mannings 55 td year and Bradys undefeated season with 50 tds. Both these guys were savvy vets, Mahomes was playing his first season as starter. Josh Allen Jalen Hurts Geno Smith These are some of the top rated QBs now that didn't hit the ground running. His advanced stats always showed he was poor at many aspects of QBing, I believe in Philly even before the last two years he was one of the least accurate QBs with time in the pocket, in Indy if you took out passes behind the LOS he had a poor completion %. Add the injuries and poor leadership, and here we are. |
