I didn't realize he's been in the league as long as he has, initially I hoped that we would get his fourth season contract on the books in 23 (probably around 2M or so)...looks like we'll be paying 5th year option money, close to 11M to test the waters. That hurts a bit, but we take 8.7 off the books by letting MJJ's contract elapse without a renewal. If it works out, paying 3M to upgrade MJJ is quite worth it.

Nope, the Falcons are on the hook for that $$$. They'll be paying it, not us.

Would be news to me. Generally when you trade for a player, you trade for their contract. His 5th year is (fully?) guaranteed salary, no signing bonus, so Falcs at no dead money to make the deal.

I question the guarantees because of his suspension, but I believe if he is reinstated and we cut him, we're on the hook for any of the guaranteed salary. I could be wrong, it's not often we've seen suspended players get traded.

Agree.   At this point we need to assume Trevor is the franchise QB and load him up like the Bengals did for Burrow, even if it mean having to compete in high scoring games.  Quite honestly, the D should improve just based on chemistry and experience since they are relatively young at this point.

Agree.   At this point we need to assume Trevor is the franchise QB and load him up like the Bengals did for Burrow, even if it mean having to compete in high scoring games.  Quite honestly, the D should improve just based on chemistry and experience since they are relatively young at this point.

This… if they can find a balance and look something close to what they did in week 2 & 3 then we be fine.

I hope they go all out on the offense this draft. #1 priority is to see what we got with Trevor, any holes on the defense should be late round picks/free agency. Use the early picks on WR/OL and get that side of the ball locked down.

I think if we could get a big 50/50 ball WR to go opposite of Ridley, it will not only open up Kirk in the slot but allow Ridley to be that deep threat

They should have done that in this past draft but instead elected to draft 2 off ball linebackers, a center, project corners and a running back who isn't even seeing the field.

It's not the Snoop Conner pick that I had an issue with to be exact. It was the whole approach.

They traded up for Lloyd when they could have stayed put and drafted Pickens.  Then they could have used that 4th rounder they used in the trade up to draft Pierce if they really wanted a RB. I would have drafted at least 2 WRs from this draft. Pickens was my target from the jump in round 2 if he was there. Then, in the later rounds, I would have tried to get Shakir or a TE like Likely or Chigo.

My approach to this off season would have been to give Trevor as much speed and playmakers as possible.

Imagine rolling into next season with Kirk, Pickens, Ridley, Engram, Likely, ETN and Pierce..... Kid can dream I guess.
