I'd maximize him in 2023 by fixing the protection issues on OL before addressing WR.

I'm fine with adding talent to the WR group, but giving him a better pocket and more time in it is just as crucial.
More so IMO.

Which positions on the line do ypu think need to be addressed? Fortner has been underwhelming but he's a rookie so I'm sure he gets another year. Sherrf just signed a big deal so he's locked in. Cam just signed an extension. Walker is gping to get his shot at RT. LG maybe to replace bartch? Usually a sweet spot for OGs is around the third round. We can still add a WR in the first 2 rounds and address help on the interior OL.

Right - Bartch should be back at LG - so I'd try to land the best guard possible that has center versatility to take LG or C depending on who turns out the weaker player between Fortner and Bartch. Fortner may acclimate - he may continue to struggle. Bartch may be pretty good - but we have a small sample size on a young player so far and it hasn't been good enough to be sure on him.   One of those guys gets upgraded and the odd man out becomes improved depth over Shatley who has also struggled thus year.

This is assuming our tackles are Little and Cam next year.

If Little struggles to close out this year, you may be taking a tackle early.

My other early picks would be CB and DT personally, but I'm not gonna lose it if they pick a WR in there somewhere.

I'll probably see it like I did the ETN pick. I like the prospect but not the pick/strategy.

you need more than 5 guys to play the line. Get another guard that can either start at LG over Bartch or become the heir apparent to Scherff and serve as swing backup. Little hasn't shown enough at RT for me not to want to find a better fit there, either.

Heck, get a monster RT, push Little over to LG and we could be onto something.

Totally agree with you and NYCJags...

A generational QB like Trevor Lawrence makes everyone look good.  But I watched the some replays from the Jags United Youtube video last night.  Guys, there's a dude right up in Trevor's face on almost every one of his plays, either that, or he's having to scramble out of the pocket.

Lawrence is making the O-Line look better than it actually is.  It's kinda scray to see how close these guys are getting to our Franchise QB.  Right now, trevor is making super fast decisions that are helping the O-Line.  But I think there is room for improvement.  I like Fourtner better than most.  I like Scherff as well.  But Shatley has a tendancy to get bulled.  Cam Robinson is OK but he's now got an injury, and unless we are backing up the brinks truck we might be losing Juwaan Taylor.  We need to really focus on getting depth/replacements that can better protect Lawrence.

I'd love to try and go after another CB as well (even though I defend Herndon, I'm aware our secondary needs to be upgraded).  As for a Edge Rusher, I think we hold back on that unless a BAP falls in our lap.  If we can bring back Smoot and Key, I'd like to see what that D Line can do together with another year working together.

All of this is possible tonight given that all three of them were heavily targeted and contributed in the first meeting.

Trevor would need to play fantastic ball to get everyone their bonus. Not one reciever averages 100 yards a game on this team but this season has been crazy enough let's hope it happens

Kirk hit his with 6 catches, 99 yards and 1 TD tonight.

Engram and Zay, not so much.

Kirk and Zay are the new lightning and thunder combo. both Turned out to be great signings. Add Ridley next year, and you have a downright dangerous receiving core. These guys were paid based on what they could become, not what they had already done, and we hit on both.

I listened to a former scout turned analyst on the radio the other day talk about Dotson and he got me pretty fired up about the prospect.Dotson played more than half his college snaps from the X position despite his size.

No, I didn't. I thought he really was on the trade block. That sucks. Not that we would've traded for him anyway.

I'd love Dotson, but we'd have to trade up to get him. No way he gets passed Green Bay and Kansas City.

Brian Robinson will probably be available in the 5th or 6th round. This RB class is loaded with a lot more athletic guys, which should push him down the board.

And they better resign Evan Engram in the off-season.  Dude is clutch!

That’s a glue guy right there. What an amazing FA signing to bring this guy into the locker room. The man is the epitome of a professional.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

Zay got mugged on the second interception, but I didn’t like that he stood there and started complaining while the play was still live. Maybe that’s what Trevor yelled about. Make the tackle, then give the official an ear full.

He yelled at him for not running his route right.

that is great to hear. that means Trevor is about business and knows that his receivers messed up and trying to get them on track. keep on doing it.
