Thurmond visiting

(This post was last modified: 03-13-2014, 08:01 PM by badger.)

Quote:I thought he just said he was overpaid?...which...
It doesnt matter what he said. Him taking the time to make sure nobody on another message board got too excited is pathetic.

Its also just insulting that these idiots stroll over here and act like we have never seen these guys play.

Its always the same thing with whatever player:

"Hey, _______ fan here. I bet you guys are happy to get so and so. You should be he's a decent player, BUT derp da derp derpy dum..."

Just googled him. There is an article on PFT 50 minutes ago. He apparently tweeted that the visit to SF is just a visit, like checking out collages and people should chill.

Sorry no link, I don't know how to use the iPad.

I won't hold my breath but, hopefully it is like he said.

Edit: it's on his twitter. (Assuming it is his)

He could still sign with us... I'm not too worried, its been a phenomenal offseason so far.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Dude had 3 torn ligaments, a broken fibula, and was suspended for drug violation.   I won't  be upset if he signs elsewhere.

And was arguably Seattle's best CB behind All-World Richard Sherman.

He played the nickel CB.

Quote:The Seahawks D was built from the DBs forward. What makes it all click however is a FS (Earl Thomas)
with ridiculous range who can help over the top if the larger CB gets beat. A consistant pass rush was absent in 2012 and was an offseason priority in 2013.
I agree.  I think Cyprien Rex is the man to hold this job!!!

He played outside during Browner's ongoing saga.

I think you're confusing him with Maxwell.

Quote:Free agent CB Walter Thurmond III will visit the Jaguars "within the next 24 hours."

All the former Seahawks defenders want to flock to Jacksonville to play for Gus Bradley. Thurmond was thrust into a starting role last season after Brandon Browner was suspended and handled himself well on the way to a Super Bowl title. He already has a four-game suspension on his record, which will affect his market.

Cyp is not that guy. We haven't found our Thomas yet. Front Office thinks Evans could be, but i'm not sold yet.

Schefter messed that one up. Thurmond started 2 games to begin the year, but Maxwell took over after the Browner suspension, starting the last five games of the regular season and the playoffs. It was def Maxwell bro.

I think we're both right:

Quote:Browner’s status for Sunday night’s home opener remains in question, but the defense is not hamstrung because nickel back Walter Thurmond continued to replace Browner – and was replaced on the right side by Byron Maxwell in the nickel, when Thurmond slid inside to cover the slot receiver. Each played well against the Panthers.

Thurmond will be an excellent addition were he to sign, I just think he would continue to excel as a 3rd CB, which is essentially a starting role anyway. He had the most success and is most comfortable in that spot. Gratz and Ball/Blackmon can man the outside.
