Just waiting to see what they will do with Taylor. And I’m still keeping my eye on Swagnew.

True. I like how much they cleared up and keeping most of the continuity around.

I think they already restructured Oluokun, Zay, Kirk, and Scherff. Could be wrong. I think the fun part would be Cam Robinson's contract.

According to this, Cam Robinson has a 2023 base salary of $16 million, and his contract runs through 2024.  So if we do a simple restructure, and declare that base salary to be a bonus instead, we spread it over 2 years, and create an additional $8 million in cap space.  Of course, it pushes that $8 million onto next year's (2024) cap.

You can do it with this cap calculator.  Click the down arrow where it says "cut" and choose "restructure" then "submit" and our salary cap goes from $7 million under to $15 million under.

Either sports edge is wrong or the poster misread it. The Jags are 8 million under at the moment.

why not both? Big Grin

How much cap space is typically needed to sign a rookie class?

5 million dollars is the number. The math is generally $750,000 per pick.

This. It's $5M. They floated this on the radio yesterday as well.

Just waiting to see what they will do with Taylor. And I’m still keeping my eye on Swagnew.

I haven’t had time to look into the numbers myself, but I read somewhere that getting a deal done with Taylor is likely contingent on getting Engram signed long term (to lower is 2023 cap hit from where it stands on the tag) before the new league year which means if they are serious about keeping Taylor, we may see a deal announced on Engram any day now.

Hopefully we get some more good news soon.

I believe so too.

If they can get Taylor locked up and find a way to get Frank Clark and/or Javon Hargrave I think we will be looking nice going into the draft.

I don't expect any splash signings. We are clearly in the "draft and develop" mode now as our GM has said repeatedly when interviewed.  They like their guys and will use money to sign them. That is unless the guy wants too much. then you will see maybe a signing and them replaced.

You're right. Always got them mixed up. For some reason I feel like they were one in the same. Dakota was laidback. We've lost a lot of good people over the years. Was it Woodstock maybe from Charlie Brown for another poster?

Sucks not seeing FBT around here anymore. I know he's still alive and kicking but he was a hell of a poster. Always found his takes interesting. When I joined here in 2005 I was just a snot nosed 16 year old and I remembered going back and forth with him about YAC with Plaxico Burress in the market.

Alfie was fun to get after too, we got into it about defense not winning Championships anymore, which, at the time, wasn't true. This was during days where Baltimore, New England and Pittsburgh were wrecking shop defensively still and causing all kinds of TD's and turnovers.

TMD was always fun to rib. DM13 is probably a guy most people don't remember but he was interesting with some of his takes.

I’d forgotten about High Score. He was a good poster.
