My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

If the bears traded out of #1 and a run on QBs gets started would you consider trading up for Will Anderson if he fell to 4-6? I know the price would likely be costly but the guys a freak.

You know how people say you should never draft a RB in the first round? Am I the only person on earth that feels the same way about tight ends?.. Like don't get me wrong, i'd give up a 1st for a guy like Travis Kelce all day long but how often are scouts right about Tight Ends coming out of college. It always feels like the first guy taken winds up being worse than someone in rounds 2-4. Idk, I was a huge fan of Kyle Pitts coming out and even tho I think he's a good TE I don't think he's worth his draft stock..

It certainly wouldn’t surprise me. Kinda hoping they can add a couple of TE’s in FA. Maybe Tonyan and a guy like Oliver. Would love adding Kuntz in the draft. Until we know what happens with Taylor I’m thinking O-Line. Torrence or Wright specifically. Not comfortable with Little at RT, at least not currently. He would seem to be a LT only. Regardless he needs the playing time. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I know the price would likely be costly but the guys a freak. Pitts racked up a ton of yardage as a rookie but he rarely hit the end zone. Last year his production took a massive swan dive. Not sure if that's all on him though considering the QB situation. I agree though. Some of the highest drafted TE's I can recall of like Kyle Brady, Vernon Davis, TJ Hockenson, Eric Ebron and Kellen Winslow were all either really slow starting off or didn't really hit their stride as hoped and ended up elsewhere early. I think 20 and below is a good start to look. We landed Marcedes Lewis late, for what it's worth, he's had one of the longest careers I can remember at his position and he's really made a name for himself as a blocker with a few decent years in pass catching. Heath Miller in Pittsburgh also comes to mind. Washington at 24 is probably not only a safe pick, but it's probably the best pick considering what he brings to this team. We do need help with blocking along the offensive line. Having a guy that big that can actually block, run and catch is a big asset to have. Especially on an offense where the coach has already proven himself historically with that position and also showed his ability to adapt with having better WR options in just one year here. Lawrence can also do a lot of work with him. Just depends on who is on the board there. If you're staring at a top pass rusher, whether interior or off the edge? You're going to have to consider that over a TE2 with Engram tagged. It's a tough call. I really wouldn't envy Baalke and this staff in that situation. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Don't forget Etienne was a first rounder, and I'd rather have someone of his caliber than a Devin Singletary that you can expect in the middle rounds. Same goes for TE and OG, they have to be SUPER special to command a top ten or top five selection, but if I'm picking where we are this year, anything goes.

I know the price would likely be costly but the guys a freak. That's why you have to draft the right guy. If there was a redraft Kelce would be the number 1 overall pick, Kittle would be a top 10 pick only because of how great that draft was and would of went top 5 in most. Gronk would of went 1st overall if you did a redraft as well in his class. All the teams just missed on those guys. If you feel one of these TEs is a future All Pro and is at the top of your board when you pick you take him. If you don't trust your board then what the hell are you doing? Pitts had over 1000 yards as a rookie but we are picking 24th, not top 10 or even top 20. When you look at the teams that have won the SB over the last 20 years or so most of them had good to great TEs. Gronk multiple, Kelce multiple, Kittle didn't win one but was in it, Shockey, Heath Miller, Ertz, Goedert was in one, etc.. The top teams almost always have a solid to great TE. When Eagles had prime Ertz and draft Goedert they gave offenses he'll in the 2 TE sets. When the Pats had Gronk and AH, they gave offenses he'll as well. 2 really good TEs can really cause problems for defenses and almost think it's a must for Dougs offense to have a good TE in it. What if Engram goes down also? Not to mention he's only on the tag. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

All these years and you don't understand needs drafting vs. BPA is sad lol. Oline, pass rusher, nickle corner I would put over TE and S but I'd still draft one if he's higher on my board. That's BPA vs need. Taking a pass rusher or oline just because it's a higher need is needs drafting. You don't draft a guy in the first that won't see the field. All these years and you don't understand what needs drafting is lol. Some want oline in the first because it's a huge need, its a huge need to me as well but I'm not taking one just because I think it's a huge need, I want my top guy even if it's at different position. It's been said I know over 100 times there are rare instances you don't take the top guy. If a guy is that good of a prospect that is available when you pick and you're loaded at that position where he won't see the field trade back. It'd crazy you don't know what needs drafting is after all these years (03-10-2023, 09:54 AM)flgatorsandjags Wrote:(03-10-2023, 09:38 AM)Mikey Wrote: first question, no way, the cost to move that far up would be crippling.Agreed, take the top guy. Possibly, can he rush the passer as well?
Didn't know where else to put this lol, but boy did the Panthers get hosed on this deal.Trading away the only weapon for the QB they intend to draft, and losing some very good picks down the road also. Bears fans should be extremely happy.
Bears get the Panthers 9th overall pick, first round next year, and second round the following year and DJ Moore a very good receiver.
