What do you expect from a group who coined the term “adulting”?

Horror movies during the day..

I'm more of a lights out, volume up kinda guy. With a big bowl of popcorn, extra butter.

Totally defeats the purpose of watching a horror movie if its during the day tbh.

Unless you're just a weirdo who likes gore.

Damn skippy! I agree!

Then again, I was watching Pumpkinhead and it was pretty early in the day haha..

Love that movie.. Hard to beat 80's horror.

The Shining was the most effective horror/psychological movie I've ever seen. I watched it alone at night and was 100% freaked the freak out. That was back in '99 or '00.

Classic.

One of my favorite all time movies.

I watched the original Friday the 13th for the first time stoned out of my gourd while in a big empty house all by myself. Bad idea.

Nothing else even comes close and nobody could have played the part as well as Jack.

I pull my “empty” trash bin in and see that some [BLEEP] hat dropped their dog [BLEEP] bag in my trash can. Seriously, [BLEEP] you! I want to see who did it on my cameras and return it to them.

That and when told “happy last day of being ….”

Yeah, that’s a return which needs to be left on their doorstep.

I don’t have any social media.  Not a fan of public shaming.  Crossed my mind to have my wife do it on the neighborhood page.  But, it’s been returned to its rightful owner.

Since I’m at it, stuff that comes in with no user manual.  9/10 I’ve got it.  1/10, I’ve got questions.

eh, I prefer that to leaving the steamer on my lawn.

I don't eat outta my trash bin, and when I make a deposit, it's lid up, chuck the bag, lid down. No breathing. no tasting, no looking.

When celebrating Women's History Month and International Women's Day libraries and ebook outfits offer tawdry and ridiculous books. Everything from soft pron "fantasy novels" (written by women no less) to just plain stupid stuff. Or the latest and greatest from the likes of Hollywood or political "elite".

Say what we will about Heffner and Flynt, as nasty and foul as they were as human beings they never lied or covered up their agenda.

I had to leave the Nextdoor app when it turned into the virtual public square for naming and shaming people. Especially for the dog poop issue. That was a top ten favourite of people to complain about. That and our local roundabout/traffic circle. I just couldn't take the stupidity anymore.

It's a shame because it's really useful when you need local recommendations for plumbers, mechanics, daycare centers, etc., as well as a local/neighborhood information hub when stuff happens. When the week-long power outage happened it was very helpful with neighbors or local law enforcement, the energy company, etc., updating citizens of places to get a meal, a shower, hot coffee, progress on getting power restored.

I didn't deactivate my account so when the next weather event or whatever happens I can still get information but I took the app off of my phone and will restore it as needed.

If his garbage truck is like mine, they don’t tip the trash cans. They only pull out the bags, so a steamer would be left in the bottom to molder away in the heat.

Definitely not trivial but very much annoyed.

Every property in our county (and in the state IIRC) recently went through market value appraisals and our property went from being valued at $83,410 to $127,500. This is land we inherited from hubby's grandmother when she died in 2017. It has a small house that is uninhabitable. 1/3 of the property is swamp and unusable. There are so many things wrong with the place, too many to list, it's unreal. No one in their right mind would buy it for more than maybe $65K.

And some jerktard says it's worth $127.5K? And we get to pay that major increase in taxes?! BS.

We will be appealing this nonsense. We don't even live there. We'd sell it if there weren't issues with family that I won't go in to here.

I'm so pissed off.

North Carolina has been a destination of blue state runners for a while. When northeasterners start swelling the population, taxes rise.

The funny thing about NC is no matter who is governor it seems that fiscally it is always controlled by conservatives.

My husband has lived here his whole life and says our county somehow keeps taxes and property values low relative to the rest of the state, or at least to comparable counties in the state. Then once in a while they go for a "cash grab" and jack prices up to the stratosphere. Thank God we're smart and put money aside in a savings account specifically to pay this tax bill every year so we're not hit with a huge payment but we will have to adjust that amount now just in case we lose our appeal.

In 2019 the taxable value of our land increased by just over $20K. We weren't the owners quite yet so we had no say though my FIL says he did appeal and they backed off. By how much, I don't know.

This $40K plus increase is total BS. I'm getting up with my FIL this weekend to ask him how he handled it before. There is an official process and I want to know what he said to them last time.

This [BLEEP] is why no one in this country truly owns anything except maybe the clothes on their backs. As long as they paid cash anyway. But that's a conversation for the political section.

Vystar's banking app is still not completely right. I don't know when the next board election is, but I have a feeling that CEO jack off, Brian Wolfburg, won't keep his job.
