And they also showed interest in Mack.

I doubt they're any more comfortable with that scenario than Chad Henne is knowing he's got to stand behind those two. Brewster is depth and nothing more. He has had ample opportunity to flat out win the starting job. He was so impressive last year they gave Meester a deal to stick around for another year.

Free agency has barely started. I would expect them to bring in at least one more offensive lineman (guard or center) to bolster the front in the same way they have re-tooled the defensive line this year. We're not done with free agency.

Absolutely no one employed by the Jaguars has said that Brewster would start. He's terrible. Don't be surprised if he's gone before September. In fact, Caldwell said they would take a look at Rackley and McClendon at center.

Once again, free agency isn't over with. It's only just begun. It will continue for a few more months, and there is a strong probability that there will be an opportunity for this team to pick someone up to fill either the guard or center positions.

At this point unless there's someone we missed who they love, I think center is addressed in the draft.

You're not the only one to claim this, but I don't see how anyone can claim as much. He had his struggles at LG, but C is a different position, and he was one of the best at that position in college. I'm not proclaiming that he'll be great or anything at Center, but let's at least get a look at him before saying he's terrible.

I want to believe this because I had such high hopes for Brewster coming out of college, but he's shown next to nothing in the playing time he's gotten. It's hard for me to hitch my wagon to him when I really believe that there are better options in the draft, maybe even on the roster already, than Brewster. I hope I'm wrong, though.

I see Brewster as solely a versatile backup to a draft pick now, with a roster spot that may be in jeopardy if they draft heavily to the OL interior (similar to how they attacked the secondary last year).

Yes, my evaluations agree, Martin is comfortably the best C in this class. Swanson and Richburg are a semi close 2/3 and project as average starting Cs from day one. After that you're looking at a bunch of meh that won't/shouldn't be starting for a couple years, if ever, and yes that includes many peoples beloved Bryan Stork.

At LG Brewster was blown up several times. Just completely bull rushed. Not sure how that's not a detriment at center.

It lists three guys that may compete in camp. Doesn't name him a starter.

I just seriously, seriously do not think that Brewster will start at center. His play at guard was so inept that it's hard to imagine him being able to pull it off without being a major liability.

I think a rookie will get the nod - and if he's not ready right away then McClendon or a FA signing will start until the kid is good to go.
