Trump Indicted, Charges are pending...

It's almost certain that some of those indicted in GA will plea bargain and pay fines and do community service and testify against those who don't plea bargain. It's completely certain that Trump will not plea bargain. He has never admitted fault or accepted blame in his life. Plus, any behavior he admits to in the GA case makes his federal case harder to defend.

I believe the leaking of a sealed indictment is grounds for dismissal. It appears to be malicious use of prosecution enough to bias any pool of jurors. That the person responsible for doing it hasn't already been publicly fired, especially in light of the uniquely high profile of this particular case, only contributes to the feeling that something ain't right.

Lol no. That's not how this works. The "leak" was only out for a few hours. If one of the grand jurors was holding out, and didn't sign, all of the grand jurors get to remain anonymous. Leak or not. It's only when they sign that their names are published. The leak could not have been a pressure tactic.

Could be, I guess it would depend on the exact nature of the leak, who did it, and was it intentional. I doubt that it would lead to an outright dismissal although the lawyer could argue for a mistrial if it gets that far.

I wonder how the Trump supporters on our forum feel about that. The exact same way I felt when the Supreme Court Justices were threatened and intimidated over Roe v Wade. It should be prosecuted. The bolded part is certainly true and for that reason I expect the admission of guilty plea for anything more than a parking ticket to be a non-starter for Trump. I also can't envision this going to trial even remotely close to within the prosecutor's proposed timeline.

Trump isn't going to prison. The worst that's going to happen to him his home confinement or community service with a fine.

The New York Trial may conclude before November 2024 but the other three probably will not. The new york trial has the least serious charges and may even get thrown out by the judge. That's the good news for Trump. If he manages to become President elect in 2024, any trial against him will be suspended. The bad news for Trump is its very unlikely he gets elected in November 2024, his trials will continue and he is likely to end up on some form of probation or house arrest. The bad news for Republicans is that all four trials will be ongoing and potentially creating headlines throughout the election cycle. This is one of the reasons he will lose and why Republicans would be fools to nominate him again.

That's actually the worst thing that could happen to Melania. Community service would be hysterical. I mean, what's he going to do, go down to Puerto Rico and pass out paper towels again? In case anyone is actually following the federal case:
Jack smith has denied Trump's lawyers latest request for an extension to an April trial date. |
