A CEO who wants to be able to recruit the smartest workers on the planet and bring them over is different from a politician who wants open borders or a politician who wants amnesty for previous illegal immigrants.  
Explain why you think it's bad and explain what you think is good.
Do you think it's bad to recruit an academic superstar from India to take an entry level job at your company?
Do you think we should let in more legal immigrants, or less? How would you decide which ones can come and which can't?
So far you've only used the word "conservative" for what is good and "liberal" for what is bad.  But there are more than two possible immigration policies.

Per the US Constitution, you only have to live in the state, not necessarily the district within the state.  Some states add that you have to live in the district on top of that, but Florida and many others do not.  Florida requires that state legislature members each live in their district before they can qualify to run, however, that requirement isn't there for members of US Congress from Florida.

I guess you think people actually live in their states. Many of the democrats live in DC and don't actually spend enough time at home to qualify as it being their home. Yes different states have different laws so it's not a problem in some states but there would be issues for a large number of people in Congress.

When the California Senator that lives in Maryland was appointed, there was a list of lists of the well known democrats that keep token homes in their district/state but everyone knows they don't live there. Shifty even has taxes and mortgage docs saying his primary residence is in DC.

Since Congress is in session more than 183 days a year, I suppose all members of both parties are technically DC residents by the end of their first term.  Unless there's an exception to residency law I'm unaware of.  Yawn.  Doesn't matter.  Congress shouldn't be a part time job.
