And I'm smart enough to realize when you have zero running game a poor offensive line and when the quarterback is trying to literally do everything himself he's going to make mistakes.... Are you trying to tell me he had time on that throw... that the offensive line doesn't completely suck

Doug needs to go too. Doug coaching while Press calls plays is trash. Baalke failed Lawrence by not getting him better protection and Doug failed Lawrence by wanting to draft Strange and by giving the play calling to Press. Is Doug really a good coach if he's not calling the plays? I think not

I think even if they make it, they have to consider a change or at least a layer added above him to make final decisions.

Turnovers hurt offensively. They also happen more frequently when you're one dimensional on offense and your QB is playing with a bad knee, bad ankle and cracked skull.

If you are smart enough to know when its his fault you should be aware he was 100% at fault for both ints and the fumble. But you are not that bright

As of right now? I'm definitely not paying Trevor 50 million+ per year.

I WANT Trevor to be successful. I don't want to keep drafting QBs. But I want him to fix it this season and play next season before he gets offered another contract. I don't want to see a top end extension this offseason.

Jags don't have enough guys even challenging for the Pro-Bowl much less All-Pro. Only Ingram is in the conversation because of injuries. Maybe Josh Allen gets in, but both him and Ettienne fell off pace to be considered definite at this point.

Yes the hope is Trevor will eventually be elite enough, you don't need as many other stars on the team; but the team still needs an even 1 more if not a few more. Even elite HoF level or top 10 of all time QB's typically have another guy on offense who gets into HoF considerations.

We all got spoiled by 2022 but a lot of the production was from FA's. Problem is those guys are FA's often because of some flaw -- most often inconsistency -- and relying on them can cause the team to have less depth because of cap difficulty.

On top of all that. Is there any position group where this team overachieves based on the resources spent on it? Good or great teams can create a good deep position with either low draft picks, cast off cheap FA's or UDFA with great drafting, scouting, coaching up, or scheming. Like in the past decade that could have been said at times for the Off Line with (Packers), secondary (Seattle for a few years), receivers (Steelers for few years), RB's (49ers).

There is no such position group that applies to for the Jags. In pre season, it looked like WR would be that group, but they have all underachieved this year.

I'm not saying all of this to absolve Trevor who is lacking that elite ball IQ and calmness we hoped that he would have. He is definitely not Andrew Luck or even Peyton. Maybe he could become a Matt Ryan/Phillip Rivers level QB, but he isn't there yet. But you can still win consistently and have chances of the SB with those level QB's. But you need the rest of the team to be better. And you cannot microwave that, you need consistent good drafts and cheap FA acquisition.
