Yea, I that is the preseason predicted line. If you look at who else we have there remains a place on offense for a backup tackle behind Harrison and a guard behind Cleveland. On defense there are rookie spots (backups?) for a NT and CB. So when pick #17 comes around they will look at the BPA on their board and there will be one of those. I say this as 4 QB's, 4 WR's, a couple edge, a couple CB's 2 tackles, a TE will come off. That should leave them a good selection at 17. It also will depend on how deep they view these 4 position classes. I could be wrong, but after the FA season that is what it appears to be.

Diggs going to the Hou. should change nothing about how we should attack the draft imo. A shutdown corner is still the number 1 need on this team. Followed the 3rd pass rusher and NT. The one tackle I could see us taking if he is there is Fuaga.
Diggs to Houston is just an extra for them. They're good because they drafted good. The Jaguars are already in their way back down because Khan decided to double down on a guy that has shown no ability to draft talent.

I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt until after this draft. We'll see.
The South is going to be a dog fight next year. Yes Houston have added plenty of pieces but still need to get it to click and now have a lot of expectation on them.
I still think we can win the South and we need to add in the draft but going to be a tough division next year. Hope Doug and Trevor are locked in as it's a big year for everyone in the building. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
As The ROCK (Dewayne Johnson) would say...
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE TEXANS DO!!!! The Jags season will be based on what TREVOR LAWRENCE does or doesn't do. You can bet $$$$ on it. If Trevor throws for 30 TDs and has only 10 turnovers total...the Jags are winning the division. I still think the Jags need to add 1 player on offense and 1 player on defense for trench depth, but the Jags performance is going to rest on their QBs performance.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone.

This would likely be one of the moves Trevor would give a discount for. It would give Trevor the best WR in football and a future HOF both being 24 years old. Good in pass block, mediocre in run block. It was also difficult for him to play between a pretty bad center and a rookie who need to improve his run blocking. But at this point of his career, Scherff should be a back up. Cooper Beebe with the 2nd round pick would be ideal IMO.

I'd still take JPJ and Haynes in this draft along with a dev tackle in the 4th or so. 4 of our linemen could be off the roster in 2025, 3 starters are needed this year to be ready. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

But one that history would say is pretty plausible. Stroud was on the better side of luck a lot and now a full season to study his tendencies. Diggs looks like he lost a step last year, though that could be frustration carrying to the field with him. They signed Hunter, but lost some other defensive pieces. and they don't have a first round pick this year. They could easily take a step back, or they could easily take a leap forward. I'm hoping it's the step back as well. This is a big season coming up for them.

All this offseason improvement can go away with one single injury to either the offensive or defensive line. We really need some young talent, because guys like Scherff, Robinson, and Morse are not young, and are not signed long term. Plus, Armstead isn't young either, and so far, he's the only significant addition to our defensive line.Everyone wants to have depth at those 3 positions. It would be great if they could hit on those positions. I wouldn’t hate that at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ![]() Fix the O-Line!
"Diggs is 31 and the Bills were willing to take a dead "salary-cap" hit of $31 million in 2024 to make the trade. They would have had a $27 million hit had Diggs played for them, which means the Bills were willing to take a bigger salary cap hit to trade him than keep him. It's true that Diggs really has been good throughout out his career. It's equally true that he's entering his 10th NFL season – and that the Bills really, really, really didn't want him on their team."

I am no Baalke fan, dude was bad for SF and the current talent pool just isn't that great now. A lot of hole filling on this team via free agency, we are not in great cap health and our QB is on a rookie deal. Not a good sign. Khan has shown to be quite the incompetent NFL owner, I do not expect it to change.

LOL
Fans are hellbent on making this roster out to be garbage for some reason. I think we are only a few pieces away from having a good battle for the AFCS with the tinhorns for the foreseeable future. I don't see the doom and gloom. Need more young talent on OL, DL, and WR. CB is a perceived need understandably - but we really have no idea what the current unit is going to look like in the new scheme just yet. A draft pick there is as much about 2025 as it is 2024 IMO. I'll also continue to point out that the past two drafts have been a collaboration between Pederson and Baalke and everyone keeps putting it all on Baalke. If Cleveland and Morse turn out to be enough change to get run functionality back from our OL, we will see a radical change in production that doesn't require a first round WR pick. I'm not concerned about the offense beyond the OL. The line is what screwed them last year. If I'm prioritizing needs for this roster I'm going: IDL - get me a 300+ lb NT/DT to rotate with Hamilton IOL - Get me a guard to push and eventually replace Scherff CB - No long term sure fire solutions on the roster - need young talent to sustain new scheme - Campbell is a question mark in new scheme WR - need young talent to sustain cap at position LT - seems we'll put off fixing this until next year - that's acceptable IMO, but it has to get right Of all of these - IDL is the only one that seems like a dire immediate need. |
