Life was good back then so why not continue to do what works? What could possibly go wrong.
As I've read through the comments of this thread, you see the true colors of most. Trump was convicted on ALL counts from the NY trial. There's at least two more trials of which is directed at Trump's decision making processes. He now has the label/title of an Convicted Felon. Felons cannot join or stay within (if convicted while within) our Militaries. Felons cannot bare arms amongst other things BUT there's people that'll vote for an Convicted Felon to be our Commander in Chief.
Trump simply feels that he's above the law. Untouchable. He'll throw money at the judicial system always expecting to overcome. As he has been found guilty on ALL charges, I expect him to appeal in an attempt to decrease the amount of charges and continue his multiple campaigns (Presidental and Rally Cries). His sentencing date is just prior to the Republican Primary and we'll have better knowledge of his immediate future. Time Will Tell. NH3...

It does not make sense to judge a President based on economic performance during their term, even if they invite you to do so. We just need somebody or a team that's fiscally conservative in the white house. We're doing a lot of foolish things with our tax dollars. We can have interest rates, within reason, we can have stimulus checks, within reason, and only when absolutely needed. The problem is that we have had too many people in too many positions doing a lot of things with our tax dollars that undermine those very basic principles. The table is rigged. You have to play ball with the Federal Reserve and you have to play ball with the Plutocracy that uses it's money to buy it's way into politics and buy it's laws in it's favor. There should be caps on certain business ventures here as well. There's no [BLEEP] reason why a company like Blackrock should be able to buy up neighborhoods at a wholesale price only to turn around and [BLEEP] over the middle class by turning the dream of being a home buyer into being a renter. There needs to be caps on foreign aid. SIGNIFICANT caps on foreign aid. There needs to be educational programs that help people who are more economically challenged than others in our country so we can stop bleeding our coffers dry and pushing the age of retirement further and further out into orbit. We can do this. It simply starts by acknowledging that we have a career politician problem, a plutocracy problem and term limits need to be introduced to congress. We're seeing a lot of enabling of bad behaviors in this country and the middle class, at least what's left of it, has ultimately had to foot the bill, eat the most [BLEEP] and suffer the most insults and shame for simply doing what you're supposed to do in this country. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Everyone knows this, not everyone admits it. Disagree. The stock market returns and its whims might fit the above narrative, but the actual economy can be influenced and often is, sometimes significantly so, by federal, state or local policy. If a politician can point to economic results that are tied to a specific policy, they'd be right to do so and foolish not to. And we'd be foolish to brush it aside as "well he/she doesn't really have any control over the results". The stock market is often a leading indicator of economic activity. However, last year, the Magnificent 7 tech stocks pretty much carried the markets, whereas if you excluded their returns from the indices you would have gotten a much different picture of the stock market, one that more closely matched prevailing sentiment on the economy. This year may not be to the same extent as last year with Tesla down almost 30% YTD as I type, but an equal weight Magnificent 7 is still up over 24% YTD with Nvidia more than doubling in the past 5 months. That doesn't match my view of what's going on with the economy. The Nasdaq itself, which is not an equal weighted index but includes the Magnificent 7, is up 11% YTD. The equal weighted Nasdaq 100, which includes the Magnificent 7, is up only around 2.5% YTD. For those that follow what I'm saying, you can see the impact 7 stocks are having on the "market" returns. I'm sure you'd see something similar on the S&P returns and perhaps I'll take a look at that when I have a few more moments. Presidents don't generally have policies targeting one or a handful of companies to be able to claim anything about their individual stock performance(s), but Presidential economic policies absolutely produce economic results during their terms and sometimes beyond. We love throwing money at everything. We especially love getting involved anytime a country's leader steps out of line and says they're not wanting to use our money to make business deals with us anymore. I am absolutely going to vote for him. His run from 2016 - 2020 was better than what anybody cares to admit outside of the people who voted for him. No wars. Better prices. Better living. No global fears or concerns. Did he get everything right the first time? No. Of course not. Most of them don't. However, as an Independent, and after two elections of writing my candidate's names in? I have to vote for him. There is no alternative that suits what this country probably needs more than anything right now. We're getting dangerously close to conflicts with Russia and China. We're getting dangerously close to sustaining a permanent black eye and catching the ire of the United Nation's because of our relationship with Israel and this debacle in Palestine. Trump can, and will, handle this differently. Because he's not [BLEEP] bought out by the MIC and he's not in bed with the war machine that makes money off of just that, war. Not for nothing, convicted felon or not, there's been far, far, far worse atrocities committed by past President's, before and during their stay in power, and some of them made decisions that have lasting impacts right now as I type this up. Nobody bats an eye there though. Time will absolutely tell. It always does. But, right now? Time is up for this [BLEEP] administration. They cannot keep going at this rate. They do not have a valid candidate over there to vote for. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky.
