Will be interesting to see what Jordan Love's new contract will end up being.
Probable that Love will get a contract similar, but it will probably be a little more lucrative than the Lawrence and Goff contracts. Glad it turned out this way for all sides. Has to feel good you are locked in to make 44million a year for a while!
Another perspective of the deal and a more important one with respect to the rest of the roster.

You’re paying because what’s the alternative? Restart with a new QB? Wait and have him blow up and it cost even more next summer?
There is no one in the NFL, or that closely follows the NFL, that thinks that Trevor Lawrence is a top 10 QB in the NFL.
Outside of this Jags fan forum, Lawrence is not thought of as one of the best QBs in the league. Just giving a perspective on reality, cuz sometimes fans lose touch with reality. If he repeats exactly what he did last year or better he's going to be in the running for a bigger contract. He'll probably get close to a $60M per year deal. Tagovailoa's situation is now very interesting to watch down in Miami as well. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Breakdown of the contract puts him well below Burrow and more around Herbert.

A great deal for sure, awesome to lock up TLAW and Josh Allen as cornerstones of the future. Like most fans around here I remember when we were the Hugh Douglas vacation team, a team nobody wanted to play for, never had a QB or identity. This is Trevor and Josh's team moving forward, and we ride or die with it.

Why would Love sign for any less?

Great breakdown of the deal from spotrac.

Dude pads stats better than anyone.

So here is the thing. Actually looking at the Spotrac reported numbers.
There is an out after the 2028 season for 0 dead cap. That means the next 5 seasons are for a $202 million with largest cap hit of only $47 in 2028. Even the 2028 years $46 million is not fully guaranteed, only for injury right now. If he is totally tanks by 2026, you can release him before March 2027 and eat the cap hit in 2028 (which would probably be a tank year anyways if it all falls apart that much), and can be fine going into 2029. Even say the Jags are fed up with him say after 2025, the $35 million in 2027 and $47 million in 2028 will equal to the tier for NFL's 2nd tier quarterbacks in those year (think like the evolution of contracts for Geno, Cousins, Daniel Jones, and Hurts. That is totally reasonable, and you could easily find a team that will offer some pick value to get rid of him if the Jags really want to reboot at that point. So my point is that everyone who is not sold on Trevor needs to stop raising the alarm. There are easy outs if Trevor actually busts in 2 seasons, 3 season, or 4 seasons. None of which would completely hamstring the Jags franchise.

Tua is one head trauma away from potentially being retired. They did a good job protecting him last year, but from the team's stand point, that deal would scare the hell out of me even though you pretty much have to extend him.

When talking about Trevor, it’s clear to see who actually knows ball and who looks at the stats. |
