I would take Kingsbury over press at offensive coordinator any day of the week.

Even the announcers knew that the burrs feast on forcing turnovers, guys should have been taught ball security above all else.

We are hapless in the middle of the field, and teams are going to keep exploiting that until Nielsen finds a way to stop the bleeding.

And cripes almighty can someone buy our receivers some stickum to put on their gloves? It wasn't even just Gabe this week. So many catchable throws.

....it was probably a sack, fumble, or the flicker end up tossed right to the defender who blew threw the line untouched. You watching the same team as the rest of us?

Veteran professional football players should not have to be TAUGHT to protect the football or how to catch the ball or how to not commit procedural penalties. Why do we keep acting like these are Pop Warner kids playing in their first rec game? I just don't get the idea that the supposed best of the best don't remember the 101 stuff.

I get that, but when a team is renowned for their desire and acumen to force turnovers, darn sure bet I am pounding that notion into the gang's head all week long. Don't fight for a yard, wrap that puppy up and we'll get that yard on the next down.

Not like teams playing us would have to worry about that...heck let's play Tiki Barber all week - every offensive guys gets to carry a ball everywhere in the building. Every defender gets one try to pop it loose. Maybe we teach the D a few tricks along the way. Would be a novel idea to see a few turnovers go our way for once.

So you don't have a clue!   That's all you had to say!

We had so much success with Rid on the ends around I imagine the flickers would be just as unfortunate. I know enough about our line to know that it wouldn't end well.

Reportedly, Doug flatlined in Philly because of conflict with the F.O. Is he encountering the same problem here?

Would we see better coaching from Doug if Baalke was gone? Or is he a basket case now?

I think he's exhausted. I don't see the internal heat. Everything is coming from the outside in.

I don't see the owner pushing for change (see York, Jed: he was a big part of the coach/GM headaches in SFO)
I don't see the GM breathing down the coaches' necks to make radical changes.
I don't see an issue (presently) with his prodigy.
I don't see Doug having any unrealistic loyalty to his DC.

I think he's just over the constant media questioning or commentary about job security, playcalling, and general faceplanting we've been subjected to over the past 5 out of 6 weeks.

if you want a retread at least go with Vrabel. He's got plenty of experience running teams without all the added baggage of age, overwhelming expectation, and desire to do everything his own way.

Think that ship is sailed, would you take a lateral hire to leave Daniels and the Redacteds to come try and fix this mess?

Dude already played this out in his time with Kyler.

Havent fact checked this, but im thinking that Doug has never experienced a 2 - 10 stretch of games as a HC. Right now, that experience is limited to Jax and Carolina.

Doug is done.

The real question is if Baalke is done too. Feel like he has to be but the snake someone keeps staying.

I think Khan's interactions at the owner's meeting this week will play a major factor in how Khan makes his decision and when.

He has said before he is friends with some of the other owners and bounces ideas of them.

If Baalke isn’t sent packing you can write off the next 5+ seasons

Did anyone else notice Trevor's demeanor at the press conference after the game? He wasn't distraught or disheartened because he knew he was doing his part. If he could have spoken his thoughts, we would have heard, 'I'm hitting these mother [BLEEP] in the chest and hands with dime passes while they're in ENDZONE. What more can I do?'

I mean if Baalke is still the GM for 5 more seasons after this, I think most of Jax would just quit the team.

Don't tell me Doug hasn't lost this locker room. Look at the difference between these 2 videos. Doug gave the same victory speech, basically. In 2022, they were bought in. 2 years later, he gave basically the same victory speech, and the players are as far away from Doug as possible while still being "present".

I mean, you gotta get rid of this guy. He's checked out. And the players aren't on board with his boring routine anymore.

I just posted this same video.

He's gotta go.  But so does Doug and his trash coaching staff.

Maybe, but I don't think this is necessarily the evidence you think it is.  That Cowboys game was later in the season AND was during the run where we were playing well AND every game we were playing was essentially an elimination game AND that game was a tough game that went to overtime that had a thrilling ending.  Hard to get as amped when even after the win this year you're still 1-4 which means it's also still early in the season so you don't yet know if you're going to be in a position to play for anything and you're not on any kind of winning streak or anything.  There's still way too much work to do to celebrate too much after that win IMO and they have to know that.

He said they couldn’t be so fragile when things don’t go their way.

Sheeeeeesh. When Trevor is saying this, you know you’re cooked. He might be the best QB in the league at saying the right things at the podium.

The thing is, he gave the same speech in 2022 as he did in 2024, based on the videos I posted.  He hasn't evolved his message.  I think it makes my point that Doug checked out after 2022.  He's not doing anything to set the narrative for his players.  They just hear the same thing over and over again.  And it worked in 2022.  But 2 years later, the guys don't even really listen.

I can’t believe I’m thinking this, but at this point, I would be down for some Bill Belichick. He needs the jags and the jags need him.. he wants to pass the great don shula and the jags want a real defensive coach for the first time probably ever.
