But as you say, it invites skepticism and distrust.

The voter roll is electronic.
A machine typically counts the votes.
But the ballot is almost always paper.
If there's any mistrust about the machine count, a hand count is almost always possible in the US.

That’s a more accurate characterization.

That's among both men and women, urban and rural.  More Republicans voted early and fewer Democrats did, compared to 2020.
Big turnout or smaller turnout, by itself, isn't the predictor it used to be.

Your parliament works basically the same as our house of representatives. People say they like their representative, but hate the leader that the representative ends up supporting.

Not in NC. We broke records if I heard the news report correctly.

Thats what I’ve heard too.

We voted early because my husband was supposed to be working today and I wasn't going to stand in line all day. He ended up taking a few days off so we can work on a home project.

I voted last Saturday morning while parents and grandparents were watching their kids/grandkids play their Saturday morning soccer games. I didn't even have to wait in a line. I walked in, showed my ID, got my ballot and did my business. It was awesome. Today will still be a madhouse at the local polls.

I voted early for the first time this year. I’m a traditionalist, day of kinda girl. It felt really weird to me cuz I have never had to stand in a long line at my polling place. Probably because the area I’m in definitely leans blue so they all voted early for years. It’s something I will do again…I think. lol

Bro.  I'm pro-life.  I emphatically do not wish for my daughter to have an abortion unless her life is at risk.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

I’m just trying to figure out why abortion is such a big deal with the left when none of them seem to have sex in a manner that can create babies…?

Duval county being as close as it was concerns me (but doesn't completely surprise me after Deegan being elected mayor in the prior election), but I suppose that is the direction a growing city normally goes.

Deegan got a pretty large bump from her opponents desire to sell our utilities.  He was a Nexterra bought and paid for candidate.

Congratulations to Trump and the Republicans.

Can someone elaborate Trumps position on Ukraine besides cancelling free aid to them (most likely?)?
Does he ignore the war at all more or less or is he actively seeking peace via negotiation even if it means territory loss for the Ukrainian?

Thanks and regards  Blush

During his previous term, Trump showed he doesn't understand policy making. He didn't get much or anything done. So I'm not too concerned about radical policy shifts. Especially since the one thing he is consistent in, is to fight his internal enemies. Four months ago  it was reported his team has a list of over 100 people they want to go after when Trump wins the presidency.  I thus think Trump will spend most of his time in office chasing down internal enemies, while also work to put his businesses in a less bad position. It remains to be seen ofc, but he has certainly proven to not be an effective leader who can get much or anything productive done.

He promised to cause the war to end quickly.  He has said nothing beyond that.

Yup.  Here's a list of some of those people too:

There are many lawyers who aspire to be appointed as federal prosecutors.  Stands to reason that the way to get one of those appointments would be to promise the Big Guy one of those scalps.  Doesn't matter if there's no case at all.  As long as the Big Guy thinks you're in on his delusions, you're in like Flynn!

That's funny considering he likes criminals in his side. You know the "fine ppl" he elected, who by the way are either locked up or some of those "fine people" don't support him anymore, aka Mike Pence.

Got it, thank you.

What about new or existing tariffs on specific countries or for specific imported products?
Is there a list somewhere of existing ones and a list of new ones Trump already announced to implement?
That would be really interesting as I'm employed at a (European) company which produces assembly lines for the automotive branch and we have several American tier 1 suppliers and OEMs as customers.
