I am just saying is Doug's loyalty is what got Doug Fired.

Oh it definitely played a part. No idea why he's so loyal to Press and Nielsen looked out of his depth. Just feel a bit sorry that for Doug that he seems to be getting thrown under the bus for all the team's faults by the both of them.
Doug's heart wasn't in it after the 1st season. He tried to back away and just be a CEO type of coach. It will be telling if Doug doesn't accept another job. I doubt he coaches again.

I did not praise him.  Re-read what I wrote.  I said this roster is better than 4-13, but I also said I wish we had fired Baalke.

If you don't think this roster is better than 4-13, then what is the excuse for firing the coaching staff?

I don't buy into that thinking. You are what your record is. Every roster has talent.

Absolutely garbage take here Marty. Be better.

You don't think we should have fired Doug?

The coaching staff was bad. However, it should be noted that, a lot of the issues this team saw on defense this past season? Baalke played a hand in that.

You let Rayshawn Jenkins go while Antonio Johnson did not blossom into a good 2nd year player and Andre Cisco regressed heavily.

You let Darious Williams go, a pretty damn good CB in 2023, for Ronald Darby, an oft injured CB that really didn't do much other than get smoked constantly in the secondary.

You gave a contract extension to Tyson Campbell, a guy that cannot stay healthy and out on the football field. He also regressed this year.

His only good secondary player worth mentioning is Jarrian Jones. Who was honestly a slam dunk prospect and was deemed the best nickel CB to begin with in that draft class. So, it's not like he had to do a ton of homework there.

He extended DaVon Hamilton. Which hasn't panned out. He shipped off RHH for virtually nothing and then he shipped off the other guy he signed during the off season for virtually nothing, and, guess what? Outside of Hines-Allen and Walker? For the second or third straight year in a row. This defense had absolutely nothing to show for in the pass rushing department.

Baalke deserves a [BLEEP] ton more of the blame for this defenses shortcomings. Just as much as Pederson did for canning Caldwell and hiring Nielsen. You signed Armstead to play DT, not [BLEEP] DE, the fact that he's already commented on returning to DT in 2025 is very, very bothersome.

That tells me there was a disconnect between Baalke, Pederson and Nielsen from the giddy-up and that's massive because Armstead was essentially the prized jewel signing of that free agency class.

I can go on and on really. Khan having the nerve to reference a WR and RT while staring down the barrel of a less than average offensive line unit, a less than average defensive line unit and virtually no running game is all I need to know about Khan.

No, Doug did

It it were just Doug then yes He deserves more of the blame than I initially thought.  Neilson's defense and weird subs have been a disaster here.

That's a good point and will be interesting to see. I think there are some jobs he'd do well with like the Saints but we'll see how much he still wants to be a HC.

He looked genuinely broken as the year went on this season.

I do want to say, I'm damn proud of this fanbase today. We've been treated so badly for so long but dammit do we stand up for ourselves.

Appreciate every single one of you.

Talk is cheap. Let's see if some of these people speak with their wallets. I doubt they will.

Surprised Khan didn't answer with I don't know if we have any slate in the building but if we do, I'm sure the maintenance crew cleans it however often is needed.

Best way to stand up for yourselves is to not go to any games.

But that won't happen.

True but I don't think I've seen this fanbase as angry as it is right now and i don't think it will go away in a few days.

The HC search and whoever they get may smooth some feathers but a lot of fans are quite rightly very pissed right now.

You talk about players regressing and young players not developing.  I'd say that points directly at the coaching staff.

Again, I am not defending Baalke, and I wish he had been fired, too.  But this coaching staff needed to be replaced.

Fans were pissed when Baalke was retained several times. They have short term memories.

Yeah, but that initial anger subsidies into hope and people forget. I want people to channel this anger and not be like HURRICANE who will keep his tickets to maintain some phony "legacy" status. People like HURRICANE are what let Khan continue to get away with it.

I don't think any coach helps anything, it will just piss people off more when they settle. Once again it will be a retread that is over the hill and has no other options for a final big paycheck.

When one of your headlamps goes out on your vehicle? Do you only swap the burnt one out or do you swap both out?
