Nothing we can do as fans expect hope for the best. Don’t get too emotional about it. Love the jags and anything positive is icing on the cake

Following Caldwell's 0.289 record as GM, and Smith's 0.344 record we've endured SIXTEEN years of cellar dwelling. What a [BLEEP] excuse for a sports team.

Jags have at least asked to interview Johnson, Coen, and Aaron Glenn for some reason (since they said they want an offensive coach)

I don't recall that in yesterday's meeting. I remember Khan remarking that the offense felt predictable at times. Which was an indictment on Pederson in my opinion. I really wouldn't mind a combination of Brian Flores coming down along with Wes Philips. Flores becomes the head coach, he calls the defense directly and he promotes Wes as the offensive coordinator after he'll get a line of credit thrown at him due to Sam Darnold's success. Philips is also related to Bum and Wade Philips. Interesting that his family carved their teeth out and made a name for themselves on defense and he's doing it on the other side. He does have a history with Sean McVay as well. He was with him in Washington and Los Angeles. So, that's one unique situation to look at. Flores needs a shot at redemption. His defense has been good this year. His style is good. He has the Belichick history to his name. He was decent and controversial in Miami. If there's no other big name commodity willing to work with Baalke? I would be able to stomach Brian Flores as the HC/DC and Wes Philips as the QB Coach/OC. I don't think we'll land Johnson, Coen or Brady. I just don't see it. I also don't see Vrabel wanting to walk into this situation with Baalke. There's really nobody else out there that I would want, outside of Ben Johnson, he was the #1 target in my opinion. He'll probably take Ray Agnew with him from Detroit along with Mark Brunell as well. That would have been a good group to rebuild with or fix this mess with. We're now stuck with Baalke and that's why I am dialing back my expectations. In this case? Whether you like it or not. Brian Flores is probably the best we can do right now. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky. Coen, Johnson and Glenn are great starts.
Hopefully all 3 say Baalke blows and he gets fired too.

Why not give Flores a crack at it? He needs another shot I feel and he would be willing to suffer Baalke for a year at the minimum. Hard pass doe me on Flores. Agreed on Glenn. I'm hoping Jesse Minter or Vrabel if we go defense. Minter helped lead a dominant D to a college title, then has the number 1 D in his first year as a DC in the league on top of learning under Harbaugh. Incoming draft discussion, why didn't we trade down or do xyz? Why did we over pay for free agent whatsiz face? The league won't take Baalke deals unless they are lopsided. I was concerned with the in season moves that had us all asking why would they let an outgoing GM do these things. Whelp because ownership is brilliant in business and stupid with sports.

Curious why the hard pass on Flores? I get trepidation given some of the reports from his Miami tenure. But everything out of Minn has been glowing, and he easily could have learn a few ways to improve since Miami.

I think a lot of owners might shy away from him because he sued the NFL after he got fired in Miami. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I don't want that drama here we got enough [BLEEP] to worry about without all that. Hard to play the race card when our owner is a minority himself in this country. I think Flores is being slept on heavily and he deserves a second chance as a head coach. He held Tua accountable and rightfully so. It's not like Miami has done anything better or improved all that much since they canned him for McDaniel. They're damn near the same coaching record wise over their three years as head coaches. Our defense was dead last as a unit this past season. I really think Khan and Baalke should go the same route Washington did last year. You get the head coach with the defensive background that can fix this mess in a soft division and then you bring in the hotshot offensive play caller willing and eager to tap into Lawrence's potential that's been setback, hindered and limited by lackluster coaching. Completely fine with Flores and Phillips coming down from Minnesota once the post season run is over with and done. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? If Byron could convince Arians to come over in a supporting role (dude's 72, maybe some consulting/QB coach role that isn't as intensive as a coordinator), I might be on board. I wanted him over Doug, but he's been out of the league for several years now, BL may just be comfortable enjoying the fruits of his labors in retirement. Good gig if you can get it. |
