Coaching Firings/ Personnel Changes

And that will be such a Jags move.

Baalke obviously needs to go. Shad said he’s keeping Baalke. Every coach says they want the job but they don’t want Baalke. So Shad fires Baalke and they move on.

It happened in KC with Andy Reid so maybe it happens here.

We both were in agreement about Ben Johnson. Also agreed with you that Coen was a solid 2nd choice.

Who do you think we end up getting? I expect us to interview Johnson still but I just don't see him coming here now.

I think we are now stuck with:
A. A veteran retread no one else wants
B. A young unproven coach/coordinator that no one else wants
C. A college coach (gasp)

Things look dim.

I have absolutely no idea at this point.

If they fired Baalke, everyone was on the table.

Odds apparently still favor Ben Johnson but I don’t know.

Pretty low point in my fandom so I don’t even care anymore.

PS. The street is the one that I live on.

Gus Bradley just became available, and I hear that Byron Leftwich is still looking for work.    Cry

The ONLY person in the NFL to hire Byron was Bruce Ariens. It took the goat Brady to make him successful. So please no.

Ben Johnson is interviewing with the Pats and Bears,
don’t think it’s likely he’ll sign with us if he’s choosing them during the bye week

Just to be clear, I was kidding.  It's a hell no from me.

Shad Khan clearly could care less about the fan-base. Long-term season ticket holders need to let him know about their discontent by not renewing for next season. This is the only way Baalke would be removed. Otherwise we can expect more of the same.

All teams with an open job have requested to interview him except the Jags. There are 0 reports that I've seen of the Jags requesting to interview anyone.

Which means once again the Jags are behind the 8 ball. If Baalke was staying he should have had the list ready and requested interviews like all the other teams.

#becauseJaguars will strike again and Press Taylor will be promoted to HC.

Is it too late for Baalke to step down?

That is straight up some Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and a random Stephen King novel, make it The Shining, thrown in a blender.

He is with us for the foreseeable future, unfortunately. I'd have to imagine we are at least 4+ years from success assuming Shad Khan retires and hands the reigns to Tony or someone a little more engaged with the team.

Jags owner kept talking about being less predictable over and over again. That’s play calling lady’s and gentleman. I think Balkie should be gone too, but I also think the jags can be back in the play offs next season with the right off season moves. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist. A shut downcorner back and some o-line help up the middle. A pass rusher off the bench. A good offensive and defensive coordinator and we are back in business. More blitzes.a game. Jags have pieces to the puzzle. We need a legit defense play caller.

I feel you bud. This year has been such a football in the groin season I've had today circled as the day it feels we are correcting the ship and starting to act like an NFL team. Instead it's more football in the groins.

I've been following this team for 25 years from the UK. It's been my team and ive followed through good and bad but always with the hope we were trying to get better and win it all like 31 other teams.

Today I'm starting to question whether it's all really worth it. I know it's just a bad day but never questioned my fandom before today.

I don't think Khan has the football acumen to run an NFL team. He needs an EVP making these decisions instead.

Has a GM ever had 3 top 5 picks in 5 years and still kept their job? Khan is looking so clueless right now and Baalke is the worst kind of snake just like we all knew he was.

25-43 record as the GM here...

To make it worse is it was one dumb win away from be 3 number 1 overall picks in 5 years.

Or it means it was Johnson who was the candidate that said his interest in the job was small with Baalke here.

Balkie wants to keep his job. lol khan does not want to start completely over. He thinks with better coaches, the jags will be back in the playoffs in 2025.

Yup, absolutely pathetic.

Also keep in mind that the Jaguars were only 1 or 2 plays away from losing to the Titans which would have resulted in getting the #1 overall draft pick 3 times in 5 years.
