Funny how your "persona" there differs from the one you use here...

That was one of the few posts I was referring to in saying I made a few positive ones post draft.  99% of my Gabbert posts have been anti-Gabbert, including 100% of the Gabbert posts I made pre-draft.

Now, lets look at YOUR ratio of pro-/ anti Gabbert posts...

<crickets>

It was post draft. It was me trying to be a fan. Going against my better judgment. Thats why its just better to be objective 100% of the time and not say things for the sake of trying to root the team on.

Quote:Il take 51 receptions, 484 yards, 1 TD, 1 passing TD over a third string backup QB every day of the week.

Barkley's injury changed everything. He could have been a nice developmental prospect.

Ace has turned into a nice cog type player, but thats all he'll ever be. His numbers last season will be the norm as his career goes on.

It was a fraudster trying to "play" another board the way you do this one.

You can tell when the truth hits home, when it results in such spin and tap dancing.

You never would have posted that on this board.  IIRC, that was around the time of one of your little timeouts from here.

There is little reason to think Barkley would have been a development QB. His injury changed nothing. He is not good.

He's not a cog. He's part of the bright future the team has. And stop with this freaking Barkley injury.. The guy is a flat out scrub like every other USC QB.

I have posted things on this board that have been me getting caught up in trying to be positive rather than my usual objective posting.

Its unusual that I get caught up in the rah rah, go Jags hype, and lose my normal level headed objective analysis towards players, but it occasionally happens. It did with Alualu at the time of his drafting too, as well as that DE from a few years ago....#92....

Barkley would have been a top 5 pick in the entire draft had he declared the year before his drafting.

The injury most certainly changed everything.

No, he certainly wouldn't have. He wasn't liked at all by the scouts/draftniks, just the silly ignorant media. He went where he should have gone all along.

lol...."Maxed out"...."low ceiling"....

terms used in several scouting reports of Luck and Manning too. (no, not saying Murray will be them, but just illustrating how stupid those catch phrases can prove out to be)

I really don't get the Murray hate. He is a gunslinger, with a very good intermediate to sometimes deep game on his footage. His high YPA mirrors what you see on the footage. He doesn't get his YPA from little 5 yard passes where the WR does all the work like some QB, of which I won't mention... Murray slings the ball all around the yard.

Yep. There are guys like that every year. They stay for a reason.

lol

How about this example.

Lets say Jimmy Clausen stays in school in 2010 instead of declaring for the draft.

At the time he declared (really up until a week or so before the draft) he was hyped as a potential top 5-10 pick.

He has a mediocre senior season.

He slips to the fourth round of the draft.

People would say "Had Clausen come out last year, he would have been a top 5 pick".

Right?

Doesn't mean it's true.

Want to see an example of what Murray will look like in the NFL?

TBH I was watching Clowney the entire time. He absolutely owned the LT. At one point they had to start double and TRIPLE teaming him.

QBs with average to below average height, solid but not great arm strength, that put up big numbers in college are a dime a dozen.  And they rarely turn into good let alone great NFL starting QBs.  I dont get the infatuation either.

Whether it be the height or the arm or athleticism, you typically need at least one of those attributes to be ideal in order to be a really good NFL QB.  Murray has none.

Ace get's drafted ---> You whine and write him off before he plays a down ---> You call him a midget and tell us all how he's gonna never get on the field due to injury
---> Ace plays in 15 games and has a very good rookie season.

Barkley plumets in the draft ---> You whine and berate the Jags for their poor decision making ---> Barkley has a incredibly underwhelming rookie season ---> You write it off because of injury
.

We are all LAUGHING OUT LOUD at you.
