Let's Talk About- Political Edition

Don't they need to get the Republicans lined up in support first?

Cards on the table- I think the SALT deduction should have a low cap, especially for people making over $400k annually.  Those people can move to lower tax states or try to vote for smaller local government if they don't like it.  So I agree with the more hard line "red state" Republicans on this.

I wouldn't raise rates but I would reduce deductions and loopholes that the very rich use.

Boom, but then this has never been about due process. More like resistance to anything Trump. Kind of dishonest...

OH BOY. Seems there is an investigation into how federal money is being spent in California. If this is true the Democratic managed state will hear from the Feds the words. "Are you going to pay in cash or credit card"

Today:
- Inflation came in lower than expected
- Grocery prices fell the most in nearly 5 years
- "Experts" at JPMorgan withdrew their prediction of a recession

All the propaganda. It was wrong.

I second the motion. Every state now needs to be looked at. That reminds me wasn't there a poster on here that swore up and down Illegals were not getting federal money?

Remember when illegals got shipped to Martha's Vineyard and they called the national guard and had them all removed in 24 hours with absolutely no due process?

I've been saying they don't.
By the law, they aren't supposed to.  If this audit finds that they did, hopefully that money is clawed back.  But the audit hasn't found anything yet.  It just started.

DeSantis shipped them there without due process also.
A due process violation is not so bad when no one ends up in prison because of it.

PROPAGANDA ALERT:
NBC Caught Misleading Their Gullible Viewers on Habeas Corpus & Executive Power
NBC Claim:
“Trump officials are discussing suspending habeas corpus without the approval of Congress.”
️WRONG
️ RESPONSE: TheReality
Congress already gave the President that authority. NBC just didn’t tell you.
THE LAW: Congress Already Delegated Immigration Enforcement to the Executive
8 U.S. Code § 1227 & § 1231 (Immigration and Nationality Act)
Congress clearly authorizes the executive branch to detain and deport “any alien” who is unlawfully present or a threat to national security.
§ 1231(a)(6) specifically allows for the indefinite detention of certain aliens deemed dangerous or removable.
The courts have ruled this applies to foreign nationals-not U.S. citizens.
CONSTITUTIONAL BASIS: Article I, Section 9, Clause 2
“The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”
It does not require a formal vote of Congress.
Only that the condition of invasion or rebellion exists.
SCOTUS PRECEDENT: Ludecke v. Watkins (1948)
The Supreme Court ruled that enemy aliens can be detained without habeas corpus under the Alien Enemies Act-especially in wartime or during national threats.
Alien Enemies Act (50 U.S. Code § 21)
Authorizes the President to apprehend, restrain, and remove foreign nationals who pose a threat-without judicial review during war or invasion.
What NBC Left Out:
️The legal distinction between citizens and foreign nationals
️That Congress already delegated deportation authority under the INA
️That SCOTUS has upheld that non-citizens during national security threats are not entitled to the same habeas rights
️That the Constitution permits suspension of habeas under invasion-which the administration has declared is occurring

Yep, Yep,Yep... Knew NBC was lying cause their lips were moving. They are going to have to retract. It is scheduled for 3:13am to 3:14am on a Monday morning.

As a side note got some more leakers ! The task force is baiting and catching them at a pretty good clip.

Dem critical of Trump's Qatari jet gift rode camel in expenses-paid 2021 trip to Gulf emirate
Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz, slammed Trump for 'selling out US policy' to the Qataris following news of their gift to the president

As Democrats attack President Donald Trump for accepting the Qatari royal family's gift of a $400 million jet to be refurbished to serve as Air Force One, photos have resurfaced of some Democratic lawmakers three years earlier enjoying an expenses-paid trip to the Gulf emirate.

The trip, paid for by the U.S.-Qatar Business Council, involved four House Democrats and one Republican who went to Qatar in 2021. During the trip, at least two of the Democrats participated in a sightseeing excursion via camelback for them and their family members.

While the trade group that footed the bill for the Democrat excursion is not directly tied to the Qatari royal family, it describes its work as "dedicated exclusively to enhancing the bilateral business relationship between the U.S. and Qatar."

Man, that's comparing firecrackers to nuclear bombs. Not worth our time.

Nothing like this gift of a jumbo jet has ever happened before.  Honestly I think it would be fine, if our government kept the plane afterwards for the next President.  Trump should not be allowed to keep such a gift for himself, obviously they wouldn't be offering if he wasn't President right now.

If I had to predict, there will be back channel discussions and the Qataris will withdraw the offer.

May want to investigate a bit more before posting. The disposition of the plane has already been established . The plane after being used by our government will either be kept by the government or be on display at the Trump Presidential library. It basically is a gift to the nation.  I know they did not get your approval ... may want to give them a call....Wink
