The Dem's were just jealous as Clinton only got a helicopter (that he kept) and Biden a fist bump when he went over there begging.

I don’t care how they explain it away, accepting a gift that extravagant displays all the hallmarks of an impropriety with a state which sponsors terrorism. Trump is undermining himself if he accepts it. It’s just that simple.

Man, that's comparing firecrackers to nuclear bombs. Not worth our time.

Nothing like this gift of a jumbo jet has ever happened before.  Honestly I think it would be fine, if our government kept the plane afterwards for the next President.  Trump should not be allowed to keep such a gift for himself, obviously they wouldn't be offering if he wasn't President right now.

If I had to predict, there will be back channel discussions and the Qataris will withdraw the offer.

May want to investigate a bit more before posting. The disposition of the plane  has already been established . The plane after being used by our government will either be kept by the government or be on display at the Trump Presidential library. It basically is a gift to the nation.  I know they did not get your approval ... may want to give them a call....Wink

The plane won't be displayed at the library. Trump will continue to use it as long as he lives, and whoever inherits control of the library will also continue to use it. It will be a personal gift, in effect, if it goes to the library.

We must not allow Trump or any other President to accept such a large personal gift. As a nation we should accept such a gift, but a President should not accept it.

Also Qatar has deliberately tried to be a diplomatic bridge between Saudi Arabia and Iran. They also host terrorist groups such as Taliban and Hamas openly. We should be more cautious with the way we do business with them.

From the article.

The Boeing 747 offered to the United States by Qatar will be given to the Department of Defense, President Donald Trump said Tuesday, responding to questions about the legality of accepting a gift from a foreign power.
Qatar's royal family offered to donate a $400 million jumbo jet that could serve as Air Force One.
The White House has pushed back against criticism of Trump, saying any gift from a foreign power is always accepted in full compliance with all laws.

As much as you would like him to, he is not accepting any gift in violation of the law. Want a fist bump?

The plane will then be transferred to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation no later than Jan. 1, 2029, and any costs relating to its transfer will be paid for by the U.S. Air Force, the sources told ABC News.

Yea, this wasn't a surprise. They knew the Dem's would scream bloody murder, just like they do on anything and everything Trump. This has been being studied for a bit to ensure the law is followed. It is actually pretty comical to see the reactions. That is the Dem's strong suit. Talk about things, point out stuff needs to get done but offer no solutions or accomplish stuff.

Quite the week our president had huh?

The article describes a change in media coverage of Fetterman: While right-leaning outlets questioned his cognitive abilities and fitness for office following his 2022 stroke and treatment for depression, left-leaning sources generally defended him at that time. Now, criticism has become more pronounced in left-leaning media outlets, while right-leaning outlets now often defend Fetterman and suggest recent scrutiny is politically motivated, particularly as his policy positions have shifted.

I completely understand being concerned about his abilities after having a stroke. Anyone with common sense should have been concerned regardless of political leaning.

The Democrats and left wing media are not concerned about him they're mad he's had a change in policy decisions that don't align with theirs. Make no mistake though, if he starts swinging more to the left again the Republicans and right wing media will flame him just the same.

It's all politically motivated.
