When was the last time you read the CBA?

Quote:Del Rio had a coach fielding punts a couple years ago. This is not nearly as newsworthy.
Actually it is. Coaches are usually former players. You can't expect a ball boy or equipment assistant to be a good pass catcher with no experience.

There's a reason why there are such strict rules on roster limits and practice times. Trying to circumvent these rules by using ball boys as players would not go down well with the people who enforce these rules. Not to mention the risk of one of these people getting injured while running a route or them possibly injuring a "real" player while running plays.

Actually we used ball boys as players to avoid going over the limit of 53 on our roster.

Yeah but coaches are usually old dudes.  As an old dude myself, I can tell you I'd MUCH rather have a ball boy out catching passes.  Smile

Which would be a classic example of circumventing the rules. Just because something isn't purely illegal doesn't mean it's illegal.

Quote:This is one of the weirdest NFL stories I ever read. It is a week old, so don't worry about three wide receivers being out against the Rams.

Look, I needed the work.  And I resent being called a "balls boy" in the title.  It's ball boy - singular.

Next thing you know Terrell Owens, and Randy Moss are ball boys.

Wasn't there a coach several seasons ago (maybe around the late 80's?) that quit coaching for a week or two to suit up and play for his team?

Well if I worked with Justin Bieber there would be no job.

I think the important question is if the ball boys made our offense look better.
