Sharks leaving Jacksonville?

#21

Quote:I think it was a bad move putting games on ESPN3.  I liked when they broadcast at least the homes game on a local tv channel.

I just can't get excited to go to a game without seeing them on tv first.

Having them on local TV and putting them on ESPN3 aren't mutually exclusive. There are numerous teams who have local TV deals and have games on ESPN3, in fact the streams on ESPN3 are just a relay of the local broadcast.

Not sure if you've been to a game before or not, but having gone to pretty much every game when there were teams in Milwaukee and Green Bay, the TV broadcast isn't close to the excitement of attending a game.

Quote:And they are wrong.
Which is a good thing. My reference was simply to what the OP article said.

I'm glad it doesn't appear to be the case.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Channel 4 shows some games in Jacksonville. I have been to a few Sharks games and they are fun. Plus it's alot easier to take kids to than an NFL game, where you don't want to miss any of the game.

I haven't seen any Sharks games on 4 yet this season.

Bouchy is still doing damage control this morning.  The bottom line is the team isn't going anywhere.

He did mention that the game this week was the national game, so I'm assuming that means they'll be televised on ESPN8, the Ocho after the lawnmower races.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It'll also be on ESPN-8, The Ocho, following a replay of the 2012 Pierced Nipple Tractor Pull National Championship in HD.

Any idea where I could get tickets to this event?

Perfect, I will already be on the right channel then.

I actually watched it on Saturday.  Didn't realize they kept that deal...thought ESPN3 took them out of the equation.

That game on Saturday was hard to watch.  There was a db who couldn't cover or tacke if his life depended on it.

Quote:It's fun to catch a game or two a season. Care for them like the Jags, no, not even close. Would I want them to move, nah, but I wouldn't say I'd do anything less then say "aww shucks" if it happened.
true same here..

Quote:Then why wold you even care? It wouldn't affect you at all.

Probably a big reason they are leaving is that there are too many people who share your feelings. I may be one of them. I have never been to a game. Because of that, I don't think I have any real voice in keeping them around.

I think a lot of people will eventually miss the option once the NFL becomes priced out of the normal person's budget. That day is coming, and by all accounts, coming fast.
True but its good for the city if there here. I just dont care to much for the sport. I tried to get into them a few yrs back. Just wasent feeling it.

The Sharks might only have some of their games on local TV, but either way ESPN3 is simply the online streaming component for AFL games.

I was able to catch the second half of the game and it was indeed sloppy. I was glad to see Portland get their first ever win though.

Announced attendance was only around 8700.  They used to always pull at least 10k, and I think they've been 12-13 for a while in the past.

I didn't realize how bad until I watched a few minutes of their game last week.

There was a corner last week that Portland picked on so bad. He could of filed for abuse after the game.

#5....every time they threw they went after that guy.

Apparently ownership gave up a few pretty good players to get Garcia on the roster...and now he seems done with the arena league.  Now that the guys they gave up and Garcia are all gone....nowhere to go but down.

I watched the end of the game and he got torched every time the other team had the ball.
