Quote:I certainly wouldn't want to rush him. There's absolutely no need to. Agreed, but I hear he's already running. ACL isn't what it used to be, and it was way back in January. I could see him working a bit by the time training camp comes around, or even a bit into training camp. Quote:I certainly wouldn't want to rush him. There's absolutely no need to.Agreed completely. We can go another year...at least a half season...until we need Colvin. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Truthfully, I wanted Desir there because I love Desir's ball hawk ability, but I can't complain too much about getting a CB with late 1st/ early 2nd round value (pre ACL) with this pick.
I agree with the notion to just get this guy healthy, along with Lee.....be ultra conservative if you have to....but don't rush either of these guys. Make sure everyone is in tip top shape to make the run in 2015.
I don't know, I just feel that a GM has a certain # of picks and he knows they aren't all going to pan out...no GM is that good...so he should minimize risk and take kids he feels can produce consistently and for an entire season. You want to hit on as many as you can. You dont take prospects that already have huge question marks regarding health. With Lee I have serious reservations about him being a 16 game starter and now with Colvin ..a jar on the shelf , I just wouldn't gamble like that. You can do that with UFA and maybe really late rounders.

They were saying on NFL Network the past couple of days that Desir and McGill have off field issues that caused their stock to drop.
Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

BIG picture. Will we be improved from last season? Probably. But 2015 is the year to make the playoff push.

Colvin is a 2nd round talent in this draft, 1st round talent in most drafts.. very solid pick.
Quote:2014 is the Jaguars red shirt year.Teams don't go "ok guys we're going to push for the playoffs next year, dont worry about the now" Quote:I love GusSome of yall would love Gus even if he picked up Forest Gump. You sound like a groupie.. He made some nice picks so far but dont praise him with every guy he selects wait till they get on the field.
Quote:Teams don't go "ok guys we're going to push for the playoffs next year, dont worry about the now" I'm not saying the players won't be trying to win games this year.... but look at the draft... Bortles... Lee.... Colvin.... Theres a chance that Bortles won't be ready to make much of an impact until 2015. Lee might not be "truly" 100% (2012 form) until 2015. Colvin obviously is a question mark to be 100% until 2015... I think we will be improved in 2014, but I see them making a serious statement in 2015 as far as wins go. Quote:2014 is the Jaguars red shirt year.Yeah I know all that but this year, next year...what does it matter if the kid is consistently on the sideline nursing the latest injury or can never play up to par because of this nagging injury and that nagging injury. You know what I mean? I realise no one can predict when someone will get hurt...a kid can go through their entire college career and play every game injury free and then get hurt during their first preseason of the NFL..it can happen and does happen. But if you have options during the draft and you can choose between a prospect that is just coming of an ACL and a kid that isn't and the talent difference is negligible then why not go for the kid that's clean (healthwise).? ![]()

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
FWIW, Casserly just said Colvin was the best pick in the 4th round.
Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
