Geno.

Quote:And he is still careless with the ball. I never said he can't fix it, I'm saying he hasn't fixed it. You guys say the INTs don't bother you, but as long as I keep seeing terrible decisions that result in turnovers then I'm not going to overlook the INTs.

The point is he is playing and learning.  You don't keep seeing terrible decisions because last game he didn't make any.  The point is he has flashed and did so in the most difficult position for any NFL QB to be in.

I'm strictly talking about fumbling. He's a damn rookie. It is normal for them to throw interceptions and make bad decisions. He didn't throw many interceptions at wvu so smart money says it will be corrected.

Just so you know, this is the reason people were so "in your face" after a good game. You judge him like he's a 5 year vet or Andrew luck. He is neither and the media and some on this board are over analyzing his every move. We saw it leading up it the draft and it has continued.

he had one of the best performances by a rookie on a Monday night football game and he still struggled receiving praise from some.

Atlanta was the 28th ranked pass defense in the league going into that game. I agree that playing on the road and in a dome is tough, but let's not pretend he did this against a good defense.

I gave him his dues. I said it was a great game. I just don't feel that one great game is enough to convince me he is a franchise QB or worth the #2 overall pick.

It's not. 5 games isn't a big enough sample size to declare either way.

I was right about Geno. Never doubted him.

Why aren't these arguments used when a guy like Luck plays a bad defense?

It will be fun to read this thread next year about this time. My guess is at least 4 rookie QBs from the 2014 draft will be better than Smith, right out of the blocks.

May be right, may be wrong.

I'll go out on a limb and say that the Jags organization also agrees with me because they didn't reach this year, but held firm for a much better class of qbs.

Enough. Enough. I can't believe you can sit there and write this drivel and be satisfied with it. The NFL is a collection of the best football players in the country where the talent disparity is not anywhere near that in college. Everyone has access to the best of everything. Training facilities, nutrition, health specialists, etc. and you sit there and use this [BAD WORD REMOVED] excuse about defensive rankings. Any defense in the league is 20 times better than the best defense in college and you're discrediting what this rookie who JUST came from college is doing when facing these defenses. It's absolutely mind boggling that anyone would diminish his accomplishments through 5 games. He has succeeeded where many, many have failed and the best thing you got is. "Well ATL defense is ranked low...durrrr." I'm about done with you people tbh. Revel in your quest for mediocrity. Geno will be laughing his butt off when he's winning games and making the Jets relevant again.

A post without sense. Wonderful.

Take some Midol.

You were spewing this same love for Tyler Bray. TYLER BRAY. I don't feel like you should be out here being flat out rude to people for simply wanting to see more from Geno. Especially since:

1. 32 teams agreed he wasn't worth a 1st round pick, let alone the #2 overall pick.

2. He hasn't done enough, yet, to warrant a #2 overall pick.

If you disagree with our opinion that there are a handful of QBs in next years class that will end up being better NFL QBs than Geno, then fine. Build some credibility before you start slinging insults, though.

TYLER BRAY?!

After that Joeckel pick I'm less inclined to call myself a Jags fan. I'm sorry that was a back breaker for me. And here we are winless because of that stellar pick. With a QB this team would either be at .500 or above it. Right now I'm more of a fan of teams that know what the most important position in the NFL is and can evaluate talent at that position and go and get it.

Excellent.   Please feel free to move on to a better team at any time.  Bye.

The Chiefs took T Eric Fisher with pick # 1 and they are 5-0.        Using pick # 1 on an Offensive Tackle has yet to cost them a game.       More importantly,   they have a foundation piece on their roster.

You are talking to the guy who thought Tyler Bray was a franchise QB prospect.
