Waiver Claims

How did half the threads get turned into rants about Stephen Hill or about superstitions about player numbers?

Because they can't let things go. I haven't posted in this thread in hours. I've taken up that argument on the proper thread. the AK15 thread.

Aim, fire.

Considering he's played about like an UDFA from Slippery Rock, they should be.

They.

Thanks for the laugh.

Quote:My point? You claimed they were all bad players from the start.

I cited a player within seconds to disprove your claim, so you then throw up the above shuck n jive?

Maybe Blackmon is an addict because his number is in the teens. If only he'd picked a number in the 80s, he'd be playing right now.

I once had the number 11 on my flag football team and developed an addiction to heroin... It's no joke.

Then you have Mike Sims Walker. He was afflicted in the 80's and the 10's

He probably took one last depressed look at the #14 jersey hanging in his closet and decided he may as well take some shots of vodka, smoke a blunt then go for a ride in the car across Oklahoma. If only that number hadn't put him in that position...we'd have a pro bowl receiver this year.

Yup. 14 did him in.

They say in the police report about the traffic stop that a tattered Blackmon jersey was found in the passenger seat stained with dried tears, whiskey, and weed residue.

It's probably a good thing he wasn't #13.

For what it's worth,  one of the better WR's of his time was Jacksonville native Kenny Burrough.   He wore the # 00 for many, many years with the Houston Oilers.

Quote:Clearly the #14 convinced Justin Blackmon to drink more alcohol.  If he had only been #81 he'd have gave up drinking for good.

Well, see, that's not a teen number. He was lucky.

Quote:Or snoozing for that matter.

No team claimed him on waivers.

No team signed him after clearing waivers.

All he gets is a try out.

Wait. I think I know who the loser is in this scenario.

You said it best.

Then again,  it's closer to a teen number than an 80's number.  LOL

Golden Tate is wearing # 15 this season,  after wearing # 81 with the Seahawks.   It never remotely even occurred to me that there should be concern on this end.   Then again,  I'm the antithesis of being superstitious.

Randy Moss switched from 81 with the Vikings to 18 with the Raiders and sucked. Ah HA!

When he went to the Pats and went back to 81 he set the single season record for TDs.

Probably but I'll glad take talented WR's even if they only have roulette wheel numbers!

You and me both. The numbers are completely irrelevant unless you've got a real affection for glitter.
