Waiver Claims

#1

Just Curious who you would like the Jags to pick up on Waiver from who was just released

I would like the Jags to pick up

WR:Stephen Hill (Jets) for Mike Brown

RB: Mike Leshoure (Lions) for Storm Johnson

OG: Josh Andrews (Eagles) for Tyler Shatley

Hill is a risk but i believe his upside is much higher than Brown.  His hands are not much better than Hill.

Leshoure  is a proven commodity and would be a natural #2 runner ahead of Todman.

Andrews has played both Center and Guard and we need help in both positions for depth

Your thoughts??

Wouldn't be upset if they took a chance on Jon Halapio.

Leshoure would be a better number 2 ahead of todman but you want to get rid of storm?

I think we need to give Storm some time to develop.

Personally,  I think he should develop on the Practice Squad

Some team would swipe him.

I wouldn't be opposed to giving Hill a shot, but I wouldn't really argue for it either.  I liked him when he came out, but he's done pretty much nothing since entering the league.

As a Lions fan,  here are my thoughts regarding Mikel Leshoure as it relates to the Jaguars situation and overall:

http://jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/top...houre-cut/

Depending on what the Jaguars brass thinks of their current Offensive Line and CB situations,   they might have some interest in the following Lions cuts from today:

T Michael Williams  ( former TE,  with huge upside potential but got caught in a numbers game against UDRFA Corneliius Lucas, who received a $ 20,000 roster bonus.  That's a very high amount for an UDRFA to receive.    I'm hoping that Williams does clear waivers but all it takes is one team to take a minimal chance on his potential.

G Rodney Austin.    Talented player who didn't perform as well in the pre-season as expected.

CB  Chris Greenwood.   Talented player who gave up TD reception to Allen Hurns but was playing well until that point of the pre-season.   Wasn't consistent enough in the final pre-season game at Buffalo.

CB  Mohammad Seisay .   An UDRFA from this year's crop that was a highly recruited JUCO player by Nebraska.   Didn't perform as expected with the Huskers and wasn't even a starter much of the time.    He exceeded my expectations this summer and might even be higher on the Lions Practice Squad priority list than Greenwood.

Also,   CB Jonte Green,  who had a 4th QTR interception against the Jaguars in the 3rd pre-season game but was cut when the Lions reduced the roster to 75,  is a possibility for the Jaguars P.S.  His college Head Coach was Dwayne Walker,  the Jaguars DB Coach.   Green started a number of games in his first 2 seasons with the Lions but didn't perform as well as expected this summer.   In part,  because of the emphasis on Defensive Holding and Illegal Contact.   Green has the height and speed combo but has been inconsistent.

Winston is intriguing with Pazstor out and having to start our swing tackle.

Did Connor shaw get cut from the browns?

That's a guy that might make sense as a long term backup to Blake.

Not a lot of guys that I would think worth the trouble, but shaw would fit nicely behind blake for sure....both have a pretty similar playing style.

Correct.

The following are the list of Browns cuts from today.   In addition to Connor Shaw,  another player that caught my attention on the list is CB Leon McFadden.

Stephen Hill was a major discussion topic here. The NOs pretty much convinced me that it was unlikely he could ever be developed. But he's big, tall and fast, and could probably do well on ST coverage, so he has value while the development experiment is in progress.

Benson Mayowa, Korey Toomer, Akeem Auguste, A.J. Jefferson, and Terrell Pryor all got cut from the Seahawks as I predicted.

And they will all get signed somewhere.

This is the pamphlet they sent every NFL Agent.

Personally I would rather not see Mayowa anywhere else in the NFC West and he would be a good fit here.

What is your assessment of Korey Toomer and Akeem Auguste on Special Teams?

I would have to go back and watch Toomer, but Ausguste was part of the kick return teams that were best in the league.

I don't think he'd linger for long there.
