You're dead wrong if you don't think there have been instances of NFL players choosing certain numbers because they felt they were lucky or that other numbers were unlucky.

So get off your high horse.
And none of them would have had any more/less skill if they didn't get the number they wanted. Which most want simply because its the number they have always had btw.

But I understand that such a simple concept needs to be spoon fed to you. I used to think you were always trolling, turns out you were simply [BLEEP] all along.

I should have known that a thread with 8 pages wouldn't be about Allen Robinson anymore

The excuses will fly if/ when Lee/ Robinson suffer the same fate as their Jags WR teen numeral wearing brethren, before them, I'm sure.

Ummmm...hello, sir?

It's about Allen Robinson making the foolhardy, career destroying choice of taking a number in the teens.

If you Want all the hottest news on Allen Robinson and bad mojo. This is the place to get it.

And you just can't get good bad mojo advice anywhere....
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

He has a good receiver name though. Which is more important?

Why didn't Aaron Rodgers think of this?

The bad mojo lies with THIS team and the WR numbers in the teens.
Wow man. Just wow.

I tell you what, I'm going to just go ahead and assume this is a troll. So, good job.

The problem with the 'numbers curse' thing is pretty obvious from the start: We haven't had many successful receivers, and haven't had any successful QB's since Mark Brunell.

The Jaguars have had a total of 70 receivers on the team.  I believe only 25 have ever held a number in the teens. That's just 35%

Only 14 of our receivers have lasted 3+ seasons with the Jags.  That's 20%.  Of which only 3 (21%) had numbers in the teens.

There's no discrepancy to suggest that the teen numbers for receivers have bad mojo. Especially considering that 42 of our receivers only ever lasted 1 season with the Jaguars.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Reggie, Matt and...Blackmon?

You do realize that TMD's going to ignore your entire post except for that bolded sentence, then use it as proof that receivers wearing 10-19 are inferior to their 80-89-wearing brethren, correct? I mean, now that I've pointed out that that's his next step, he won't do it, but if I hadn't, you'd get a load of TMD about that bolded sentence.

Well it's also worth noting that of our Top 4 WR outside of Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell in terms of number of touchdowns, all wore numbers 10-19 during the majority of their stay here.

Reggie Williams #11

Matt Jones #18

Mike Simms-Walker #11 and #15 (He scored no touchdowns as #81)

Ernest Wilford #19 (He converted to #85 and a TE I think, and scored just 1 TD during that time)

In terms of yards?  Only counting WR's

Reggie Williams

Matt Jones

Ernest Wilford

Pete Mitchell

Cecil Shorts

3/5 were numbered in the teens.

Pretty sad that Reggie Williams has the third most receiving yards as a WR.  Thankfully Shorts just needs 537 yards to pass him.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

As long as they're paying attention to him, that's all that really matters.

One of your more idiotic posts ever. This might even trump your glitter posts.

Yanno, there have been times when TMD has actually caused me to wonder if, in fact, he really does have more football related knowledge than we give him credit for. Then he comes out with crap like the above and confirms my prior suspicion that he's a complete idiot.

SO just for the record are we predicting Allen Robinson and Marquise Lee to bust out of the NFL? I just want to know because I've been on this board for a little while now and I have a lot of fun when we revisit topics such as this.

I am sure he does have football knowledge. But "The Mad Dog" is the character he has created and this is the act he performs on this random message board.

I am sure he is the living version of Patton Oswalt's character in Big Fan.
