Quote:They're not mowing a lawn.  They're playing a game in colors they've been wearing throughout training camp.  You don't think they've been conditioned to the heat, especially when the sun is blazing, the temps have been hovering around 100, and the humidity has been above 90% for most of the past several weeks of training camp?

I'm pretty sure 78 and cloudy with a chance of showers is really worrying the training staff right now.

Even with the sun blazing, how much of a temp difference does moisture wicking material actually generate if it's darker?  It's hot in white.  it's hot in black.  It's hot in teal.  As long as the guys have been properly hydrated (and they are) by the training staff, it doesn't matter what color jerseys they're wearing on the field.

Some here act like the differential is so significant that the players could very well burst into flames wearing dark uniforms on hot days.  And yet they still do it, and we haven't had a single incident of spontaneous combustion.  When we have seen heat related issues with players around the league or in sports in general, the biggest issue is that they weren't properly hydrating.  That is the most critical component in dealing with heat and humidity.  That's science too.
Well clearly you haven't read my comments.  I said it its a very insignificant impact but it is in fact an impact and "could" be a slight advantage.  It makes a difference.

2010 is legit. It was week one.

The 2011 opener was in week THREE on Sept 25. So, that really shouldn't even qualify. Thats almost October.

Perhaps thats my fault, but I think I did mention the Eagles did the white jersey at home regularly in EARLY Sept home openers. Sept 25 is clearly late for a home opener and heat and humidity is much less a factor in the Philly area by then. Its not even summer anymore by Sept 25.

Maybe a few years ago.  The advantage is negligible today.

Wouldn't it be easier to just admit you were wrong?

I was just giving another example of why the jersey color won't make a difference on Sunday.

I had to scroll up to remember what the title of this thread was...

Sad...

I was actually gonna say something about Darren Sproles being on the Eagles and how he torched us last year when he was with the saints, and blah blah football stuff.

But why bother?  Nobody cares, it's more fun to argue with FBT and TMD about the weather...

Which by the way, I feel like we had this weather conversation before....  Seriously...  Weather, and heat, and light, and colors.  It's like I'm in the middle of a Jungle Groundhog Day

You were wrong. It's okay to be wrong.

The 2010 game (Early September) was actually cooler than the 2011 game (Late September). It all qualifies.

Let 'em all go naked.... problem solved and it'd probably improve the ratings anyway....At least at that little sports bar in Philly.

Darren Sproles is almost washed up or else he'd still be a Saint today.

The primary reason I believe Darren Sproles is no longer with the Saints is they had very little salary cap room in the off-season.   Especially when factoring in the addition of S Jarius Bryd as an UFA and the uncertain Franchise Tag number for Jimmy Graham.
