<p style="margin-left:40px;">I wonder how many of those polled were at the game last year in London.

That is very interesting. Here's a thought. I'm okay with having 1 game per year in London after our current arrangement is done. What I would like to see is every other year, we have a "home" game there and every other year an "away" game there. Thoughts???
It was initially kind of misunderstood, but ultimately it was about increasing the *Jacksonville* Jaguars virtual market size from 1,345,596 to 22,345,596. ;-)
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Quote:It was initially kind of misunderstood, but ultimately it was about increasing the *Jacksonville* Jaguars virtual market size from 1,345,596 to 22,345,596. ;-) It was easy to misunderstand it based on where the franchise was at when these games were announced. The NFL was banging the drum about putting a team in London. This franchise was under new ownership and the guy who took over had yet to establish any sort of presence here in Jacksonville to assure that he was committed to keeping the team here, and the Jaguars were regularly on the list of franchises ripe for relocation. The new owner had agreed to keep the team here for 5 years as part of the sale, which at the time was conveniently timed to wrap up at the same time the 4 year commitment to London was winding down. It's not like people were just plucking the notion that the team could move to London out of thin air. Subsequently, Khan has done everything he possibly could to assure that the team is secure in Jacksonville, and while I still am not a fan of losing 1 home game a year to London, especially when it's guaranteed to be one of the better match ups of the year, I understand the necessity in doing so to help the bottom line of this franchise. If it expands the fan base along the way, that's great. I'm still not sure how that plays out in the long run if the league does indeed eventually put at least one team there. Once London has their own team, this fan base had better be fully on board to support the team because we won't have that safety net helping the bottom line for the franchise. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
I think the biggest thing in Jacksonville for long term stability is the corporate community to buy into the team. That has definitely improved since Khan bought the team and Lamping took over. Those premium seats have to be sold.

Those premium seats have to be sold. You could see the change in ownership starting right away with the corporate community here. There are a lot more sponsors than in years past, and they've done a great job of courting the business leaders to assure those premium seats get sold, and they've had a significant impact. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
I think that's staggering, when you think that a couple of years ago the Jaguars would have been right up there with the Titans as a team nobody really cared about.
Of course there is a difference between "not disliking" or merely "liking" a team and loving a team so much you are willing to go to games, buy jerseys and all the other fan stuff, but it's a massive step in the right direction. I think it'll be fascinating to see how many people at this years London game turn up as Jaguars fans (last year it appeared most people were just general supporters of the sport, and there were jerseys from just about every franchise on show) And I'd be interested to know how much Jaguars merchandise the nfl Europe store sells now, compared to the other teams... (And this is coming from someone who only started supporting the Jaguars when they came to England, before that I used to follow the Vikings... So I'm proof the plan has worked !) Now I see why there were so many 49ers fans there last year. I actually sat next to two Germans guys on the plane that were 9ers fans on the way back to Germany. They like baseball here also in Europe.
Here you are Jags. A nice video to understanding the UK, Britain, and England:

It must have a lot to do with Jaxon DeVille entertaining them before the game and at half time because we haven't shown them anything on the field... yet.

Nah -- those tossers are on the Gus Bus!! Either that or they've fully lost the plot!
And we're playing the Cowboys, the one of the most hated teams. It IS a home game!

Quote:It must have a lot to do with Jaxon DeVille entertaining them before the game and at half time because we haven't shown them anything on the field... yet. It's all because of the off the field stuff. Which makes the idea of what it will be like when they start winning even more appealing. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:I'm an international freight forwarder, 20+ years. BritishJag has it right. What does freight forwarding have anything to do with it? Maybe I need forward you a freight with a bunch of large maps. London is in Britain. This UK non-sense is a bunch of Mike Mularkey. Britain... It's in his screen name for the love of Pete. Quote:Jaguars 2nd on a popularity poll? Jags are #1 on "Favourability Score" 6.09 with the closest other team the Bears at 2.27. I'd say they like the Jags!
Because Jaguars is our mantra
