So you must start a QB on opening day if you drafted him high? Otherwise it was a wasted pick?


It's up fathomable that a guy could be at the top of your board yet still require time to develop? Teams don't draft a player for anything beyond opening day?

No, i wont. If you didnt think he could beat out henne, or you thought henne was serviceable, they should have taken clowney (hypothetically at 1) or watkins. Or traded down. Then draft the developmental qb later (like teddy). Top ten picks should be immediate difference makers. That certainly applies to the guy you had at the top of your board.

You can't take a guy that high, heap all that praise on him, and then try to temper expectations THIS MUCH. It makes you look incompetent. Cecil has played with Chad for 3 years, and he says the players trust both equally. SO IT DOESNT MATTER THAT IM NOT AT PRACTICES. The guys who are have been saying the same thing.

He played well enough to avoid throwing interceptions which means making short throws which means not converting 3rd downs which means not moving the ball which means letting a good offense score 34 unanswered points. So all in all Henne played well enough to lose the game but keep himself in the starting lineup for another week. Until Henne starts throwing picks or having consecutive games like this we won't see Bortles for a while

my problem with henne and the coaching staff is that they seem like they don't actually evaluate his game on how he plays and looks on the field. it seems like they go home, look at the stats and say"Well that looks good," at call it a day. henne had one good quarter sunday, one quarter. after the defense couldn't gift the offense anymore short yardage field position, he remembered who he was. funny thing is, i knew it would happen. on one hand i was excited at what was happening in the first quarter, but at the same time i wished it wasn't happening. the reason is simple, i knew henne wasn't gonna keep it up. low and behold, the second quarter his play fell off. i knew right then in there because of his play in the first quarter, the coaching staff had something to fall back on when people bring his play up to the coaches. henne is a stat guy, hell make himself look somewhat good, but the team will most likely lose. he looks just good enough to start though, so he can say it wasn't his fault. but, do the coaches not know that there are 4 quarters to a football game? don't just look at one, and evaluate it, look at the full body of work. when they get home, henne will get booed off the field.

Exactly its really sickening to watch Gus praise his 1st quarter of work and forget when you take the 14 points off turnovers HENNE led the team to 3 points

Im confused. What's the point here? He rode the bench, and the team still played like [BLEEP] his first year starting. Blake wouldnt just come in and light it up necessarily next year. All of a sudden, a 3 year rebuild becomes a 4 year one. That's asking for a LOT of patience.

I understand he isn't going to come out and say, he sucked sorry folks, it is still frustrating to see those comments though. The only thing Henne was efficient at yesterday was killing drives.

Efficient. That's not a very endearing term towards a QB.

Henne is not good enough to clutch games. I think we could win some games with him, but everything needs to be clicking.

Our OL can't get any push in the rungame. Hurns is getting doubled or even tripled, nobody else is stepping up. Add in some drops and swatted balls or dirtballs, and you have 34-17 with an exhausted defense

He is so efficient. I especially like how he doesn't waste any time or energy going through progressions. It helps him play so much faster having decided pre snap where he'll throw it.

Not sure if anyone addressed this yet, but.... Henne's PRE-formance wasn't the issue. His POST-formance was fine as well.

After the Lions game last night, Jim Caldwell said that Stafford was "efficient".  I've decided that he needs to give whatever college degree he has back.  He obviously doesn't understand the Chad Henne level of efficiency, which Stafford didn't even come close to all game.

Once again I'll say 3 very team has those moments. Drops are an excuse. Did they hurt? Sure they did. Did a couple drops cost them the game? No.


No matter how you slice it Henne isn't very good so it really doesn't matter.
